πΊ ANZAC Biscuits β A Yummy Australian Tradition πΊ
ANZAC biscuits are a special Aussie treat that many families love to bake.
Theyβre crunchy, a little chewy, and perfect to share together.
These delicious biscuits were traditionally baked from the heart by mothers, wives, and girlfriends for their loved ones heading overseas during the war.
The ingredients oats, flour, and golden syrup were chosen because they wouldnβt easily spoil on the long journey and were commonly available in the pantry at the time.
They were first known as βSoldiersβ Biscuits,β but after the landing at Gallipoli, they became known as ANZAC biscuits.
