As we approach National Reconciliation Week, we are reminded that reconciliation is an ongoing commitment to truth, respect, and stronger relationships between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and non-Indigenous Australians.
This year’s theme, All In, calls on all of us to move beyond words and commit to reconciliation through action, accountability, and everyday practice. At Foodbank Queensland, we recognise reconciliation as a shared responsibility. It means listening, building genuine partnerships, and embedding First Nations voices and priorities in how we work.
We’re proud to have received conditional endorsement of our Reconciliation Action Plan from Australia, marking an important milestone. As we finalise the submission, including artwork and media assets, we continue to build on the meaningful work already underway with First Nations communities and partners across Queensland.
Through recent engagements, including Close the Gap Day, National Apology anniversary commemorations and Reconciliation Queensland events, we continue to learn, listen, and strengthen how we show up with respect and humility.
Reconciliation is a long-term commitment, and at Foodbank Queensland, we remain committed to being All In.
During National Reconciliation Week, we encourage everyone to learn more, explore available resources, and attend local events in your community, and continue that commitment year-round.
