Introducing Moree's two newly crowned BBQ Queens - drumroll please - Georgie Clyne and Sam Murphy.
Their Harissa crusted lamb with orange and tahini, and orange infused green salad, using their secret ingredient Grove Juice, took out this year's National Ag Mixed Grill BBQ Competition.
People's Choice went to "The Sundowners" - Wilson Statham and Will Jackman, with secret ingredient O’Brien Garlic adding a twist to their dish.
Rounding out the comp were "The Real Housewives of Garah" - Amber Boyle and Mel McNiven, cooking with secret ingredient Sleepy Hollow Honey, and Young Aggies Moree - Ruby Tighe and Jack Wiseman, incorporating Pally Pecans into their dish.
Thank you to all our fabulous teams, the laughs were plentiful, and the culinary skills, impressive.
Huge thanks to judges, Tim Poole of Port of Newcastle, major sponsors of Moree on a Plate, who travelled to Moree for the event, sponsor of the much-loved BBQ Cook Off competition, Colin Underwood of National Ag PTY. Thanks also to our ever-entertaining MC, Andrew Pitman, Dipper's Home Timber & Hardware for donating the winning Weber BBQ, and to South Moree Butchery (the winning lamb!) and Reado’s Meats for donating the meat for the day.
