Benny Payne our saviour!
A sponsors shout out to Paynes Electrical another of our Dinner Plate sponsors, and without this bloke Moree on a Plate would be out with a bang - literally.
Thank you Ben, who volunteers his time and electrical expertise on the Friday and throughout the festival on the Satuday to ensure a smooth and safe power supply for all our stall holders and entertainers.
Thank you Benny, your contribution to our day is invaluable and we are so grateful!

Shout-Out to T&FS Woods
We were thrilled to once again welcome T&FS Woods as a Dinner Plate Sponsor for our 2026 festival.
For over 60 years this family-owned freight and transport business has been servicing the region, and beyond - initially in earthmoving, and for the past 30 years in the cotton and grain industries.
Fourth generation in the business, Luke Woods, works with his father Allan and mother Julie, and is excited to lead the next chapter of the family legacy.
"There are plenty of local families who we've been working with for three generations, and I'm proud to continue this relationship with so many of our next-gen farmers - it's exciting to see so much youth and enthusiasm in the district."
Conscious to give back to the community, the Woods family is generous in its sponsorship of Moree on a Plate, a day the whole community enjoys.
"We're always happy to help out when we can. Moree on a Plate is such a good day out, and there's a lot of effort that goes into delivering this event so hopefully we can make a difference by supporting it with sponsorship."
With a growing business servicing the east coast of Australia from Emerald to Melbourne, T&FS Woods is a business we can all be proud of, and we're so, so grateful that they choose to so generously support Moree on a Plate - this thoughtful contribution is what community spirit is all about.

Port of Newcastle is more than a port, it's Moree's critical link to world.

With trade worth about $48 billion to the national economy each year, Port of Newcastle enables Australian businesses to successfully compete in international markets.

And as one of Australia's more agriculturally productive regions - Moree is the biggest wheat producing shire in Australia, producing two million tonnes last year and run approximately $1 billion in agricultural production - Moree's relationship with the Port of Newcastle is vital in ensuring our product reaches export markets efficiently, helping feed and clothe the world.

With just 23km left of our northern Inland Rail to complete, which falls in the Moree Plains Shire Council region, the whole industry is advocating for this section of the currently-shelved project to be finalised. This important link would ensure that Moree district producers could export directly out of Port Newcastle, at a saving of about $35 per tonne.

Thank you Port of Newcastle for your continued support of Moree on a Plate as our major sponsorship partner, at a time when it feels like government is abandoning rural Australia, Port of Newcastle's investment in our community is a reassuring show of strength recognising Moree's unique agricultural opportunity.

Thank you to Hannah and Tim from PON for visiting our festival and helping judge our BBQ Cook Off, it was a wonderful opportunity to showcase our community, and strengthen PON's and Moree's partnership for the future.

What a wonderland of fun our Moree on a Plate Kids Korner was this year 😊

Thank you to all the local schools, organisations, and individuals who contributed to such a terrific atmosphere for our littlest friends.

Huge thanks to Jules Warner for always bringing the fun, and for organising the wonderful paper plate competition, it was the talk of the town for everyone under-12 😂

All this wouldn’t be possible without our newest committee members, Meg Moses, Ursula Bailey, Cara Moore and Mill Cutcliffe who have reinvigorated our Kids Korner with sparkle and flare. Thank you girls, what a fun day you’ve given our local children.

And of course to the Moree Plains Shire Council for sponsoring our 2026 Kids Korner, thank you! Your support is always so appreciated.

See you next year kids ❤️

This week is National Volunteer Week - a timely opportunity to thank our wonderful Moree community for your enormous contribution to making our town the best it can be.

Moree on a Plate is 100 percent volunteer run, which comes as a surprise to many of our producers and visitors, given our festival's impressive quality and spot-on attention to detail.

Thank you to our incredible committee - all of whom balance busy homes and careers, yet make time to contribute and give back. Moree on a Plate simply wouldn't exist without the passion and will of our committee, and the scores of volunteers who help with the behind the scenes detail like setting up, packing down, decorating, food prep for the chef, and selling raffle tickets.

Volunteering is truly meaningful work, to deliver an event or initiative that brings joy to total strangers is a really great feeling. To contribute on a committee with people you otherwise wouldn't meet, meeting new friends and working as a team navigating different personalities and perspectives - it provides terrific life skills for young and old.

Thank you to everyone who contributed to our great day, Moree is strong because of our volunteer culture, so if there's an organisation or group you've been curious to help, don't hesitate!

Warren Mendes! What a legend!

Thank you to our wonderful Celebrity Chef at this year's Moree on a Plate festival.

Warren, a celebrated cookbook author and hosts Food Trail: South Africa as well as programs on SBS and Network 10, was so generous sharing his knowledge, and passion with our Moree audience.

Warren prepared locally-sourced menus including spiced beef schnitzel with smoked olive chilli crisp featuring Home Paddock Meats Honour Thy Smoked Garlic Oil, O’Brien Garlic and Kietta Allen Sourdough

Pecan, apricot and honey cake featuring Pally Pecans and Sleepy Hollow Honey

Flaky roti with smoked trout, sesame yoghurt and Asian pickled salad featuring Deanos Smoked Trout

Koeksister donuts with orange and coconut featuring Grove Juice oranges.

We love that Warren brought his family out to Moree for the weekend, and was genuinely excited to explore our region.

Thank you Warren, and to everyone who enjoyed his demonstrations and gained a new appreciation for recipes using our local produce. And of course, thank you to our Celebrity Chef sponsors, Grove Juice and to Margi Kirkby and Sarah Pearce for organising another incredible celebrity chef experience for our Moree on a Plate visitors.
