Transitional Houses:
Byamee have transitional houses for clients to hold 3-month leases to build up their rental ledger.

We increase awareness, we promote and we advocate for the safety and rights of service users to reduce homelessness and domestic violence within the Moree Plains Shire. Byamee was established in 1984 originally created for those reliant of Alcohol, since then the organisation has changed to provide support to those experiencing or at risk of being homeless. Referral pathway:

ll local Moree services to assist with all our client's needs. Soft life skills programs:
Byamee run programs to ease clients into basic skills of being a good tenant.

This month is a reminder that looking after your health is just as important as looking after your family, work, and community.

Many men put their own wellbeing last, but taking action early—whether it's for your physical health, mental health, or emotional wellbeing—can make a real difference.

If you're experiencing challenges, don't go it alone. Support is available, and reaching out is a sign of strength, not weakness.

Your local AMS is here to help with health checks, chronic disease management, social and emotional wellbeing support, smoking and Va**ng and connections to other services you may need.

The Reconciliation Awards Evening was held at Moree Memorial Hall on Friday, 5 June 2026, bringing our community together to celebrate and recognise the outstanding contributions of individuals, groups and organisations who make a positive difference every day.

This year's National Reconciliation Week theme, "All In", encouraged all Australians to commit wholeheartedly to reconciliation, every day. The evening was a wonderful reflection of that spirit, recognising those who continue to strengthen relationships, respect and understanding across our community.

A very special and heartfelt thanks to our Program Officer Russell Cook for his enormous efforts in helping organise this event alongside the Moree Reconciliation committee. Your dedication, hard work and commitment behind the scenes played a major role in making the evening such a success. It is greatly appreciated.

Thank you also to everyone who attended, supported and contributed to making the evening a memorable celebration of community, achievement and reconciliation.
