An objection that we occasionally hear at GRACE is that by recommending faith communities use SAMHSA's six trauma-informed care principles as a framework for responding to abuse, we are imposing a secular model over a biblical one. However, as therapist Chase McKinney commented in GRACE's recent Safe Church Course, trauma-informed care is deeply aligned with the character of Christ.

We believe that trauma-informed care does not stand in opposition to Scripture to act as a replacement. Rather, it is a practical tool for carrying out God's command to care for the vulnerable.

To read more about the intersection of trauma-informed care and faith, check out Pete Singer's article "Toward a More Trauma-Informed Church." https://currentsjournal.org/index.php/currents/article/view/444

As we come closer to Christmas and the New Year we just want to say a huge thankyou to the volunteers, donors and project partners who have made food & clothing distribution and meal delivery possible to Moree and communities further a field this year!

A huge thankyou to Hands And Feet, Good360, Foodbank NSW, Thread Together, Coles Secondbite and Woolworths OzHarvest! Your generosity has allowed us to be generous with our community.

Thank-you those who have donated to us directly or through Hands and Feet to help us cover fuel costs and meal delivery costs.

Thank-you to the volunteers who have picked up, sorted and then delivered food throughout the week to some of our community's most vulnerable people.

Thank-you to Ruth, Grace and Maleah for overseeing and cooking the meals each week, and thank-you to vistors, school groups and churches who have contributed food containers, and bulk cooking for this ministry.

Thank-you to the local church family, NW NSW Community Church who support and care for people who have received food deliveries.

It takes a network of people to accomplish what has been accomplished this year!

Praise God!

There's no Sunday Salt today as Uncle Paul is away looking after his mum, Mrs Strahan as she recovers from her operation.

Thanks for your understanding โค๏ธ๐Ÿ™
