Mordialloc Lapidary Club Workshop hours
7pm - 10pm Tuesday & Thursday evenings,
11am - 3pm Thursday day
1pm - 5pm Saturday

As a member of our club you can discover more about this wonderful hobby and learn how to identify minerals, cut and polish stones and produce beautiful jewellery in our own workshops at a time that suits you. Regular classes are held and, under the guidance of our experienced volunteer instructors, you can learn to cut gemstone cabochons, facet crystals and cut and polish opal. You could also lea

rn to work with silver and make jewellery, including setting stones that you have cut yourself. Try your hand at enamelling or gemstone carving, or maybe create a Gem Tree. As you develop your skills you can have your work assessed by an accredited judge at club level and hopefully move on to compete in competitions at the interclub level, State level (Gemkhana) and national level (GEMBOREE®).

We had a great turnout at the club last Saturday for our Easter celebrations. Organised by our social secretary Alex; the day was a lot of fun with a raffle, plenty of member-donated prizes, and of course hot cross buns!
