This week is National Volunteer Week and today we celebrate Larni 🐍🐢🐾

Larni is our amazing Secretary who helps keep our group organised and running smoothly behind the scenes. She is a proud mum of 2 and foster mum of 1, with a huge heart and always willing to jump in and help wherever she can… even if she gets a little side tracked along the way! 💛

When she’s not supporting our Scout group, Larni works hard as a cleaner and support worker, always caring for and helping others in her community.

Larni also has a big love for snakes, turtles and cats, bringing her fun personality and caring nature into everything she does.

Thank you, larni, for the time, energy and kindness you give to our group and our families. We truly appreciate everything you do! 🌟

This week is National Volunteer Week and today we celebrate Allan, aka Drop Bear, our incredible Rover Advisor! 🛶🔥

Allan has been involved in the Scouting movement for an amazing 45 years, sharing his knowledge, experience and passion with generations of young people along the way.

Now enjoying retired life, Allan continues to give back by mentoring our oldest section as they navigate life as young adults. His guidance, encouragement and support help shape our Rovers into confident and capable leaders.

Behind the scenes, Allan also works tirelessly organising grants that help keep our group running and growing, ensuring more young people can continue to experience the adventure of Scouting.

Thank you, Drop Bear, for your years of dedication, wisdom and service to Scouting. We are so grateful for everything you do for our group and our youth members! ❤️

This week is National Volunteer Week and today we celebrate our Scout Leader, Taipan! 🐍💚
Taipan is a passionate and dedicated leader who is always eager to grow through the many training opportunities that Scouting has to offer. His enthusiasm for adventure, learning and supporting our youth shines through in everything he does.
During the day, Alex works away as a Heavy Vehicle Mechanic, and while this can sometimes mean he can’t make every camp or section night, we truly value every bit of time and energy he gives to our group.
Thank you, Taipan, for your commitment, leadership and the positive impact you have on our Scouts. Your support helps create unforgettable adventures and lifelong memories for our youth.

This week is National Volunteer Week and today we celebrate Stef, aka Raven! 🖤🔥

Raven took a 10 year break from Scouting after being a youth member and Cub Scout Leader, before returning to the movement once again — this time as our Venturer Leader.

Taking on her grandfather’s Scout name, Raven proudly continues his legacy and honours his memory through her leadership, passion and commitment to helping young people grow into confident young adults.

During the day, Raven works as an Early Childhood Educator, supporting and guiding children through their learning journeys. She also spends countless hours supporting her own children through their Scouting adventures.

Thank you, Raven, for bringing your experience, heart and adventurous spirit back to Scouting. Our Venturers are lucky to have you leading beside them! 💜

This week is National Volunteer Week and today we celebrate our Cub Leader, Sam aka Pademelon! 💛🐾

Pademelon is a passionate Cub Leader who gives it her all every single night. She works hard behind the scenes organising and running amazing Cub programs for some of our youngest youth members, helping them grow in confidence, skills and adventure.

As a former youth member herself, Pademelon understands the impact Scouting can have and loves being able to give back as an adult member.

Sam’s volunteering doesn’t stop with Scouts either! She also volunteers at her daughter’s school, always stepping up to support her community wherever she can.

Thank you, Pademelon, for the care, energy and dedication you bring to everything you do. Our Cubs are lucky to have you leading their adventures! 💛

This week is National Volunteer Week and today we celebrate our wonderful Treasurer, Tara! 💜
Tara is the quiet force behind the scenes making sure all of our bills are paid and everything keeps running smoothly for our group. Her dedication, organisation and support help keep Morayfield Scouts moving forward every single day.
During the day, Tara works as a dedicated School officer, helping children learn, grow and thrive. At home, she is a proud mother and grandmother who continues supporting her grandchildren through both Scouts and Ventures.
Thank you, Tara, for the time, care and commitment you give not only to your family, but to our entire Scout community. We truly appreciate everything you do! 🌟

This week is national volunteer week! Today we celebrate Sugarglider!
Sugar Glider is an inspiration to our older youth sections, encouraging them to grow their independence, challenge themselves and embrace the adventurous side of Scouting. From supporting new experiences to helping youth step outside their comfort zones, she helps make every adventure memorable.
Working long hours means she can’t always make every night or be there from the beginning, but that’s the beauty of our incredible leadership team — we support each other so our youth continue to thrive. Every moment Sugar Glider gives to our group is deeply appreciated and never goes unnoticed.
Outside of Scouts, Sugar Glider is also a busy mother of three, somehow balancing work, family and volunteering all at once!
