Thank you to Dr Christian Rowan MP for recognising the important role our Queensland JPs and CDecs play in supporting their local communities.

It was great to have Dr Rowan join us at the QJA Western Suburbs Branch JP Workshop at Kenmore Library and show his support for our members.

Our workshops provide a great opportunity to learn, share experiences, ask questions and stay connected with the QJA community.

⚖️ Supporting our local Justices of the Peace and Commissioners for Declarations.

This morning, I was delighted to open and support the Queensland Justices Association - Western Suburbs Branch JP Workshop, held locally at the Kenmore Library.

JPs and Cdecs play an incredibly important role in our community and in the everyday functioning of Queensland’s justice system, generously volunteering their time and expertise to assist others.

It is always encouraging to see local residents putting their hands up to become a JP or Cdec, and equally important to acknowledge those who have dedicated often decades to serving our community.

As the State Member for Moggill, I am proud to support local residents through the application process and recognise those reaching significant milestones of service.

👏 Thank you to the Queensland Justices Association and its Western Suburbs Branch for organising today’s workshop, and to all our local JPs and Cdecs for your ongoing service and dedication.

💙 Volunteering is about making a difference in your community.

This National Youth Volunteer Week, we’re celebrating the young people who are stepping up, getting involved and helping build stronger communities.

Becoming a Justice of the Peace (Qualified) is one way you can give your time and skills to support your local community. From witnessing documents and certifying copies to providing an important community service, JPs play a valuable role in Queensland.

If you’re looking for a meaningful way to volunteer, becoming a JP could be a great way to lead, connect and make a difference.

And volunteering doesn’t have an age limit — there are opportunities at every stage of life to get involved and give back. 💙
