Last week the former President of the United States of America, Donald Trump was almost killed by a gunman when he was speaking in Pennsylvania. Fortunately, and miraculously, by the grace of the Almighty God, as he personally admitted, he survived. After a few moments on the ground, his right ear was hit and blood was flowing on his face, he stood up and raised his right fist towards the crowd and boldly said, “Fight, fight, fight.” The crowd saw him, instead of running away in fear for their lives, they calmly stayed and shouted in response "USA, USA, USA". His courage brought courage, boldness and strength to the people.
Apostle Paul was about to go back to Jerusalem, knowing that his life was certainly endangered. He will be arrested and imprisoned and could be killed. He told the people of God, “However, I consider my life worth nothing to me, if only I may finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me, the task of testifying to the Gospel of God’s grace.” Acts 20:24. Paul said in other words, “Fight, fight, fight.”
In his writing to the church in Corinth, he wrote, “Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.” 1 Corinthias 15:58
No matter what happens in our lives, even when we fall many times, we must stand and fight and continue to do the only thing that matter in our lives as followers of Jesus, that is, work hard everyday to fulfil the calling that God has called us to do, TELL OTHERS ABOUT THE GOSPEL OF GOD’S GRACE. Jesus is all about Grace. We are saved by His grace and we live by His grace. Ephesians 2:8; 2 Corinthians 12:9.
We continue to fight because Jesus fought for us when He laid down his life on the cross for us and then raised His life from the dead after 3 days to give us new life and eternal life. Yes, Jesus was killed for us to save us from eternal condemnation and death but He got up metaphorically speaking, raised his fist, telling us to fight, fight, fight. Why? Because by His grace, no matter what happens to us in this life, we are now more than conquerors. We are winners. God is for us and no one can be against us. Romans 8:31-37
So, if you are feeling down today, or burdened with many problems and challenges in life – remember God’s grace is sufficient and enough for you. God’s mercy will never fail you and His goodness is running after you until your last breath. Simply put your trust in Jesus. John 14:1
Stay blessed to be a Blessing!
