The playground area at the northern end of the hall has been under-utilised ever since the old playgroup moved to a new location some years ago. The Community Association is revamping the area to make it more usable for the public. The playground fence is being dismantled to encourage more people to use the area. The soft-surface will be covered with high-quality artificial turf, necessary because the shade cloth is being kept in place and real grass would not survive. The Community Association will install bench seats, similar to the ones already around the hall, as well as several specially constructed picnic tables with seats attached. The first picnic table is in the Men's Shed ready to be assembled. Work on the area will start this week. The Services Club, which provided funds for this area in 2015, is fully supportive of the project.

Over 100 people attended the Community Meeting in the Moore Park Beach hall on Saturday 20 June to hear what Bundaberg Regional Council is doing to mitigate erosion along the beach. Jason Bartels Councillor for Division 1 outlined what the Council plans to do, beginning with a breakwater 80 metres out to sea in front of the surf club. Work on this is expected to commence in the next month or so. Mitigation works will concentrate in this area, as well as near Lassig St where rocks have already been placed. Plans with the State Government currently in preparation include a relocation of the mouth of Moore Park Creek further south.
Many passionate speakers asked questions and Jason Bartels Councillor for Division 1 answered them with all the information he has at the moment. For a full account of his presentation, go to his page.

Moore Park Beach residents came together on 15 June to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the opening of the Community Hall.
Former Community Association officers, members of the original hall committee, and long-term residents gathered around the celebration cake to commemorate the occasion. Councillor Jason Bartels Councillor for Division 1 and Community Association president Derek Alcorn cut the cake.
