Wanders in the new woodland with Ed checking on the plants 😍 He loves his little patch of bush just on the edge of Moora, happy to keep infilling every year and adding extra bits. The Carnabys have already been feasting on the vegetation since 2024 - truly great result all round. Inspiration for everyone to have a go 💪

Never gets boring looking at this transformation 🤩 A hectare of old farmland from bare to new native woodland on the edge of Moora. This is your persuasion to 'do something' for now and for the future. Ps vid coming of wanders through

Here's a WA day treat, a look at the wild Eucalyptus rhodantha woodland blooming in Midwest WA - ravishing 😍 Their natural range has been reduced to a pinprick sized area with a few hundred remaining plants. The best of what remains is here because of a local farmer's wife - thank the green gods for women 🙌 🥰

The future is bleak though.....
"The long-term survival of E. rhodantha
in the wild is not guaranteed given its distribution as small isolated remnants in largely cleared agricultural land. Only two populations remain relatively undisturbed on uncleared private property, the others occurring in cleared paddocks or degraded, w**d infested road verge. No natural recruitment has been recorded in any of the populations."

Wish WA would invest more in conserving the unique natural assets that makes WA awesome. A few less racetracks would be a start....

Its WA-ttle day ! The Acacia microbotrya have burst into flower 🌼 Hundreds of yellow puffballs. 💛
These local quick growing trees are a great addition to any planting. Also fix nitrogen. And ooze out 'bush toffee' Bonza ! Worth celebrating

Ever woken up and opened the blinds to see a Barn Owl staring at you?? Well it happened this week in Moora. You wouldn't normally expect to see them in the day perched on your verandah so probably not quite right, looked a bit skinny too - very likely could be rodenticide poisoning as heaps going on with the rodent probs at the moment. He did fly off haphazardly after I went outside, harassed by a heap of birds - butcher birds, miners, galahs. Hopefully he'll pull through. No chance of catching and taking to the wildlife carers. Remember NO 2nd Generation baits !! I see all the hardware's in Moora are still selling, bunnings too. Mitre 10 have pulled them. Sick owls 🦉 are the result 😮‍💨 if you do find a sick owl, please contact Chittering Wildlife Carers Bluebush Wildlife Rescue and Rehabilitation Inc. Just Raptors etc and they'll help you work out what to do.

**home found** Would anyone like some bag tree guards?? We have about 300-400 that need a home. We don't use this type anymore. You'd have to buy canes but they're not too expensive. Message if keen.
