At Wandi, our rooms are cosy, comfortable and homelike - with a view of our gorgeous grounds. 🍃

Most participants share a double room with another participant, which can help you feel less alone, and more accountable in the treatment journey. 🦋

What's the first sound you'd expect to hear when waking up at a mental health facility? 💭

We bet it's not someone singing their favourite song at the top of their lungs, as they prepare breakfast for everyone. 🎶

But this is the reality at Wandi Nerida, Australia's premier residential treatment facility. And that person singing is Nerys, our incredible Head Chef, who is responsible for cooking participant's daily meals and running our cooking classes. 🥰

She brings endless joy, warmth, and fun into the cooking environment, and is part of our dedicated team who are making eating disorder recovery a reality. 💙

Meet Katie, our Equine Therapy Assistant! 👋

Katie talks about her own lived experience of an eating disorder, and how horses and equine therapy had a positive impact in her recovery journey. 🐴

Did you know? Over half of Wandi Nerida’s staff have lived experience of an eating disorder, or as a carer, which helps bring further understanding, empathy and hope to the participants we support. 🦋

It's been five years since Wandi Nerida first opened its doors, and we were grateful to celebrate this special milestone with our passionate community and supporters. 💙

We heard from previous participant Sarah, who shared how Wandi helped make her recovery a reality. 🦋

Sunshine Coast Mayor Rosanna Natoli, Andrew Wallace - LNP Federal Member for Fisher, and Andrew Powell MP also shared their support and gratitude for Wandi, reflecting on the importance of compassionate, caring and homelike treatment environments. 🍃

At Wandi, we're lucky to be surrounded by lush, flourishing natural grounds, full of beautiful flora and fauna. 🍃

We have just been gifted two Richmond Birdwing vines from Daleys Fruit Tree Nursery which play an important role in saving the vulnerable Richmond Birdwing Butterfly, the largest sub-tropical butterfly in Australia. 🦋

We first learned about the importance of protecting this butterfly from our friends at Bribie Island Butterfly House – and our passionate gardeners here at Wandi are keen to help protect this species, and hopefully welcome them onto our grounds. 🌱

We're so grateful to Mooloolah Valley Community Association Inc. for their generous $500 donation towards our goal of creating a vibrant mural within our facility grounds. 🍃

Mooloolah Valley Community Association Inc. is a volunteer-led, not-for-profit organisation that is at the heart of the local community – the passionate volunteers run the local op shop, coordinate local markets, and organise essential community services that support residents through tough times. 💙

Their kind support will help us bring a colourful mural to life in our back courtyard, helping transform the space into a welcoming area where participants can recharge, ground, and focus on their recovery journey. 🦋

We’re celebrating the incredible horses and staff who make equine-assisted therapy such a special part of eating disorder treatment at Wandi Nerida. 💙
