Inside the hall again this year due to the weather, our brigade attended the dawn service to pay respects and be on hand as first aiders. Veteran and fire warden John Watson sang the beautiful hymn by Rudyard Kipling, “The Veterans”.

🚫LOCAL FIRE BAN🚫

Please spread the word.

Due to heightened fire conditions, a local fire ban will be in place from 0001hrs Thursday 2 October until 2359hrs Tuesday October 7, 2025 for the Sunshine Coast and most of southeast Queensland.

Under a local fire ban all open fires are prohibited and all Permits to Light Fire which have been issued in the designated areas have been suspended for the duration of the ban.

Last Sunday, Montville RFB members took part in Maroochy South’s annual group exercise which comprised challenges and training on pumps, four-wheel driving, navigating, radio communications, first aid, dangers of powerlines, working as a team, incident control and more. Thanks for sharing your area Mapleton Rural Fire Brigade! And thanks to the Maroochy South Group for all the volunteer hours putting on such a great event. And of course volunteers in the field, keeping skills up to help protect our community.
