WE NEED YOUR HELP TO KEEP MONBULK PRESCHOOL LOCAL 💛

We need the community's help to reverse the recent and unannounced transition of the Monbulk Preschool's governance from its long standing history of local Committee of Management (CoM) to an external Early Years Manager (EYM). This decision, made without community knowledge or consultation, has effectively taken the choice and control of a beloved community asset out of the hands of the very families it serves.

Monbulk Preschool has been a cornerstone of our community for decades, a place where children learn, families connect and local voices shape every decision. Community-led kindergartens are resilient, responsive and keep profits local. Choosing an EYM removes local choice, control and risks replacing community care with a system driven by cost and bureaucracy.

YARRA RANGES COUNCIL HAD A COMMUNITY OWNED OPTION AND OPTED FOR AN EYM!

We’re calling on Council to:

• Reverse this decision and protect Monbulk Preschool as a community-run service.

• Commit to transparency and include families in all future decisions.

• Ensure the kinder remains locally led, inclusive and connected.

Please Sign the petition today to keep Monbulk Kinder local for generations to come. ✨
