# About Us
Neighborhood Watch is a community based crime prevention program aimed at reducing the incidence of preventable crime and creating safer communities. Members work with Police & local communities to promote crime prevention activities related to home and personal safety, work at community events and assist local police in encouraging the public to report suspicious behavior. Neighborhood Watch provides information which will assist you to learn how to secure your homes and vehicles.

Stay Safe, Stay Informed: Free consumer rights and scam awareness session

Join us for this free community information session on scams and consumer rights under Australian Consumer Law.

Presented by the Monash University Street Law Program, this session will help you learn:

👉how to recognise and avoid common scams
👉what to do to protect yourself from fraud
👉your rights when goods or services are faulty, not as described, or do not meet acceptable quality standards
👉when you may be entitled to a refund, repair or replacement, and
👉where to seek help if you experience a consumer problem

This session is part of Community Safety Month and is designed to help participants make informed decisions and confidently exercise their consumer rights.

CCTV is estimated to solve 80% of crime when the offender has left the scene or police don’t arrest them at the scene.

Advantages of registering your CCTV :

🚨 Greater awareness of crime in your area - Police will often email all registered CCTV camera owners/operators in an area for CCTV
🚨Saves everybody’s time – Police time of door knocking for CCTV and your time of having the police at your door to request CCTV 👮

A reminder Police are mapping the CCTV camera locations and are not seeking remote access to your CCTV

Did you know offenders use stolen plates to avoid identification when committing serious offences such as petrol theft, drug trafficking and burglary.

Flood watches are currently in place for parts of Gippsland, central and northeast Victoria from tomorrow into the weekend.

Heavy rainfall can quickly lead to localised flash flooding – with little or no warning.

Given the forecast persistent rain, community members are urged to drive to the conditions and never enter floodwater.

If flooding does occur, find alternative travel routes and be aware of driving hazards such as mud, debris and damaged roads. If conditions are dangerous, safely pull over on higher ground and away from trees.
