Just in time for , our friends at Remote Pools Project are recruiting up to 14 AUSTSWIM-licensed swim teachers to volunteer in the Northern Territory – all travel and accommodation expenses paid!

Their volunteers work in remote Aboriginal communities to teach lifelong swimming and water safety skills to infants through to Elders.

People living in remote parts of Australia are 2.7 x more likely to drown than Australians in major cities. Access to swimming lessons and water safety education is crucial to prevent drowning yet has historically been irregular or unavailable in most remote communities.

Placements will run in 4-week blocks across Term 4 and Term 1, for communities in the Big Rivers region (flying into Darwin) and Central Australia (flying into Alice Springs).
