Great to visit the Caloundra Men's Shed to see plans progressing for their new flexi-room project and hear directly from members about what it will mean for their community.
This additional space will support discussion groups, education sessions and social connection, all of which play a vital role in men’s health and wellbeing. Men’s Sheds are more than workshops. They are places where mateship, purpose and support make a real difference.
The project, estimated at around $180,000–$200,000, has strong local backing and clear community benefit. Like many organisations across the Sunshine Coast, they are feeling the pressure as community grants and funding opportunities become harder to access, and they are calling out for support.
I’ll keep working with the Caloundra Men’s Shed and all levels of government to help identify funding pathways and make the case for investment in this important project.
Backing local organisations that strengthen mental health, connection and community is exactly the kind of practical work that matters.
