Day 2 of camping with Tour d’Horse - We wrote an ORIGINAL SONG! 🎶

The incredibly talented led our participants in a songwriting session, spinning our words and ideas onto the next chart topping, country hit, ‘KIDS’ 🤭

Within a few short hours, we got to hear the brand new song performed in front of the campfire, with our KIDS family, Tour d’Horse riders and special guests.

Last night we announced James would be joining us as an ambassador for the Foundation. We’re so excited to see him again 🧡

Meet Naomi, our Equine Assisted Learning Lead here at KIDS Foundation. Naomi is also a qualified equine myotherapist and bodyworker 🐴

Naomi and her family connected with KIDS after her sons, Ashton and Cadin were injured in the Exford Primary School bus crash in 2023.

After their family had a transformative experience at Camp Phoenix, CEO Susie O’Neill invited them to Tour d’Horse, our largest fundraiser that helps support all the programs KIDS delivers.

Three years later, we are coming full circle, as Naomi gets in the saddle for this year’s Tour. She will be riding for , with funds raised helping to keep our Equine programs alive 💖

Out in the community where it matters most 🧡

On Saturday, Kate Jones from our NSW Education Team, with a little help from Charlie, was at Cessnock Petstock sharing the heart behind what we do.

A heartfelt thank you to the Petstock Foundation for getting behind Tour d’Horse and helping us reach communities in such a meaningful way.

Tour d’Horse is our biggest fundraiser of the year, almost 200Kms across 6 days in the Upper Hunter. Teams ride to raise vital funds for the KIDS Foundation, helping us continue our meaningful programs.

This year marks 10 years that comedian Annie Louey has been part of the KIDS Foundation as a volunteer and Ambassador.

After suffering burns from a campfire accident at 16, Annie went on to discover the healing power of performance and comedy.

She is now working in our team through the ‘Empowering RIGHTS’ program, which provides vocational opportunities for young people affected by life-altering injuries and conditions affecting appearances and capabilities.

We caught up with Annie as she develops her new show, being performed at this year’s Melbourne International Comedy Festival.

One of our long-time volunteers, Jo Power, has shared some lovely words about what the KIDS Foundation means to her.

Many people know her as ‘Little Jo’ and she been involved with KIDS for more than 11 years. This kind-hearted, pocket rocket is also involved with smileforachildfoundation and the Noosa Heads SLSC, where she teaches children surf lifesaving skills 🌊🏄

Jo says, ‘Being part of the KIDS Foundation means everything to me, especially as it’s allowed me to connect with such a vibrant and supportive community.

Watching these amazing kids grow in confidence and being able to fundraise for them and mentor during their recovery is truly rewarding. I continue to stay connected with many members of the KIDS Foundation, and it’s wonderful to witness their progress and journeys in life.

I am very excited to continue supporting the KIDS Foundation and its incredible work well into the future.’

Our hearts go out to Tony, Helen and the Makybe family. She holds a special place in so many hearts all over the world. We were proud to have her as the KIDS Foundation Equine Ambassador connecting with little people in a special way, changing lives, and bringing strength to young survivors on their recovery journey. Sending hugs and love, Suse and the entire KIDS Family 🧡😘
