An incredible way to finish off our year at MCM with a bbq, salad, chocolate mousse with strawberry coulis and icecreams, Christmas goodies and gifts and Christmas music 🎁🎶
All our facilitators were responsible for the meal tonight- thank you to Ping, James and family, Rob, Karen, Judy and Kathy, Janelle, Jane and Ben and Mark who all pitched in to produce a cracker of a meal!🥘
Thanks to Mel and her team of helpers and musicians from Mitcham Baptist who cooked, served Christmas and grocery items and played Christmas music for us , so supportive of MCM over the years… we thank you 🙏
Thankyou to Simon and the bread team of Garry, Maureen and grand daughter, Angie, Maggie, Meg and Shankar. You guys have supported MCM for many years and we couldn’t have done it without you. 🥖

And a last thanks to you , our supporters and volunteers who have given your time, talents and energy to MCM over the years. We appreciate and love the contributions you have made to MCM that have helped us build a service that has fed thousands of people in the Whitehorse community and beyond.

A special thanks to Leisl and the team from 1st Nunawading Scouts. They were fantastic in the kitchen serving an amazing meal of roast lamb, potatoes and salad. Followed by deconstructed trifle which was absolutely delicious. They were extremely well organised and efficient in the kitchen! Also many thanks to our faithful regulars who continue to serve the guests each week, the bread team, Orange Sky, One Voice Showers and Footpath Library who help each week. Your dedication, generosity and kindness has truly been appreciated. You have done so much over the years and we are incredibly grateful for your service. Finally thank you to Elizabeth and her family for the delicious biscuits.

Tonight we were served by Tulsi’s Crew , who made Mexican meat and guacamole bowls with apple crumble , ice cream and custard for dessert. It was a wonderful meal , we think their 14th cook for MCM and served with love , care and kindness for our guests.
This cooking team have been wonderful supporters of MCM over the years, we love having them come and cook for us, thank you so much team!

We were also blessed tonight with a beautiful Christmas tree donated by Jo and the 1St Mitcham Scout Hall Scout Group. Thank you so much, it is beautiful and really brings the Christmas pine tree smell into our hall. 🎄
Thank you also to Beth and the ladies of the Hummingsong Choirs who sang some fantastic Christmas songs for us tonight. You brought happiness and joy to us all and have done so on a number of occasions at MCM. Just wonderful. 🎶
Thanks also tonight to Friars Foodies, a team of beautiful people from Whitefriars College who donated some Christmas goodies for us tonight to hand out on the 22nd. You guys have cooked, baked, served soup to our guests on many occasions, wonderful supporters of MCM. We love you guys!
Kate and her team from Lions Club of Blackburn - Aust made terrific gifts of toiletries for our guests which they gave out tonight. Thank you for you generosity and support of MCM over the years, you are legends🦁

First Heatherdale Scouts were superstars tonight , serving delicious spaghetti and meatballs followed by fruit and icecream. Wonderful meal thankyou! Each member of the team did so much tonight and enthusiastically served our guests. Huge thanks to you all😎
Melbourne Uni Christian Fellowship made Mars Bar slice for all our guests to enjoy and then stayed around to chat. Great effort , thank you🙏

It is with great sadness that MCM has to announce that we will be closing our doors permanently at the end of 2024.
We have been operating in the city of Whitehorse for six years , serving our community with a sit down hot two course meal every Sunday night!
We have grown from 10 guests to now catering for up to 80 guests each Sunday.
Due a number of reasons we have to close.
The cost of food has risen, we are outgrowing our donated space and we are no longer able to staff our service in a way that allows us to continue running effectively.
We wanted to take a moment to acknowledge and thank our regular supporters and huge number of generous volunteers who have been part of MCM over the last six years. It has been a joy getting to know each one of you, thank you❤️.
As we move forward, we want to wish you all the very best and God’s blessings in your future endeavours.

Belmore Rd Church of Christ have done it again, serving up a hearty meal of roast chicken 🍗 & gravy plus all the trimmings🥗🥖, finished off with a lovely dessert. They were a great team, so well-organised and efficient!

Many thanks also to our loyal partners the Bread Team, Bread Street, The Footpath Library and One Voice who faithfully help out week after week. We can't do what we do without your continued support 🙏🏻

MCM are preparing for our final meal of 2024 on Sunday 22nd December.
At this meal we like to give our guests some Christmas fare, usually hampers, but unfortunately we are unable to do that this year.
So we are reaching out to our wonderful supporters to see if you could help us out with Christmas food giveaways- Christmas puddings, Christmas mince pies, shortbread, chocolates! (Sorted for Christmas cakes) and anything you think our guests would enjoy at Christmas time, ( no alcohol).
We are happy to receive donations any Sunday or contact us via email, text or message.

Thank you so much to Jane and ‘Team Turning Point’ for cooking an amazing meal of Butter Chicken and cheesecake. It was delicious and really enjoyed by all the guests. Thank you to the team and to Ben for bbqing the chicken. Your kindness, generosity and efficiency in the kitchen was so appreciated!

A wonderful meal tonight of taco bowls with salad and fruit crumble , icecream and custard for dessert. Rangeview PS lead by Dianne and her crew were super organised and involved their children in the serving of the meal. It was great to see the gift of service demonstrated by adults and children tonight, a wonderful example set by parents to their children. Thank you!
Thank you to Meg and her husband who made scones with a variety of if jams and cream. How yummy 😋
Thanks to Orange Sky Australia , The Footpath Library and One Voice who continue to support our guests with washing of clothes, books and showers.

High fives to the Vermont Primary school team who served up bbq sausages 🌭with a side of rice salad and finishing on a sweet note with brownies & ice cream, and home-made biscuits too 🍪

Thanks to the soup team from Grace Church of Christ for the delicious pumpkin soup 🍲, and the muffin team from Whitefriars for their beautiful home-baked goodies 🧁

Yet again, we are so grateful to our awesome partners the Bread Team, Orange Sky Australia, and The Footpath Library.

Tonight we were served by the Lions Club of Blackburn - Aust who provided our guests with meat pies, buttered potatoes, corn and peas. Just delicious! And for dessert we had jellied fruit and icecream, yummy!
Thank you guys , such generous service and caring hearts tonight. You made up to 100 meals tonight which included takeaways, major effort!!! Thank you for your team work, flexibility and managing all contingencies that arose tonight! 🦁
Biscuits and sweet treats were supplied by two groups tonight, Buddies Kitchen and The Sweet Squad. Your range was huge for guests to choose from, my favourite, the chocolate chip banana bread!!! 🍫 So lovely to have Emily’s daughter and her friend helping out with cookies all bagged up and then individually given to our guests. 🍪 Buddies Kitchen also made the soup for tonight, pumpkin and lentil soups , plus homemade sushi 🍱 for our guests! Amazing kindness from both groups, thank you so much!
