There were more than 400 people 'All In' for Reconciliation in Baromi Park on Tuesday morning, including students and teachers form Mirboo North schools, kindergarten and day care, staff from Mirboo Noth Library, community members and visitors.

Ray Young, Gunai Kurnai man, explained that reconciliation week was about getting out there and understanding other people's culture.
Ray not only gave a welcome to country and conducted a moving smoking ceremony, he played the 'yidaki' or didjeridu.
There was also music and dancing from the Dedlee Kultya Dancers,

Events like this remind us that reconciliation is built through listening, understanding and walking together as a community.

The Community Foundation was delighted to support the Mirboo North Reconcilation group with a grant towards the cost of holding this event.

What is Reformer Pilates?
Under the guidance of a trained instructor or physiotherapist participants use a specialized bed-like machine to do a low impact, strength building exercise class.
Where does it happen?
In the Baromi Centre, BooFIIT have set up a new โ€˜Reformer Studioโ€™ with four Reformers, allowing a maximum of four people in each session.
These sessions are perfect for:
- Beginners
- Anyone returning to movement โ€“ you donโ€™t have to be fit or active to start.
- Those wanting a safe and supportive place to start
- People who may have always wanted to try Reformer Pilates but never felt confident enough.

If youโ€™re interested in attending a free session, register your interest now:

Ever wondered what a 'tax deductible donation' actually means?

If you donate $2 or more to a registered charity like the Community Foundation, you may be able to claim that donation at tax time.
So while you're supporting local projects, community programs and people doing it tough, you could also reduce your taxable income at the same time.
A win for the community and a little relief at tax time too.

From hardship support and education, through to recovery projects and wellbeing initiatives, each donation helps strengthen the place we all call home.

In a nutshell, when we give to a cause that we are passionate about, it makes us feel good.
Giving will not only have a positive impact in your community, but it has emotional wellbeing effects, it strengthens our personal values, teaches our children the importance of generosity and encourages others to do the same.
-
There are many ways to give: whether it is in the form of cash donations, volunteering time, donating business goods, or sitting on a committee or being a local leader or organiser of a fundraising event, all forms of giving are good for the heart and soul.
-
It's easy to donate online, visit our website or speak with us at the Community Foundation https://mirboodistrictfoundation.org.au/giving/

๐Ÿฆ๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ Today in Boolarra: Conference of the Birds ๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿฆ

TODAY in Boolarra at 2.30pm! Rug up and bring a torch - see you there!

Conference of the Birds is a community-based event inspired by the artistic talents and community spirit of the people of Latrobe Valley and South Gippsland. The artwalk explores country, survival and belonging created in collaboration with First Nations peoples, artists and the broader community and celebrates the beautiful bird-life on lands they call home.

The event includes a free art-walk and festival along the Boolarra - Mirboo North Rail Trail to 'The Meadows'.

โ€‹The Journey begins by Gathering in Railway Park, then walkers set off on The Quest to the First Nations' ceremony circle for Welcoming. Afterwards the audience follow the rail trail towards The Meadows.

Walkers will pass through seven mysterious Valleys, past art installations and performances before reaching The Meadows for live music, dance, story and a bonfire. Food trucks will sell warm food and drinks at The Meadows.

Walkers should rug up well, bring a torch and something to sit on.
