This session will cover key topics, including:
- How to safely connect and operate a generator
- The difference between using a generator with and without a changeover switch
- The dangers of attempting to install a changeover switch yourself-why it must be done by a licensed electrician
- What size generator is needed to power essential household appliances like kettles, washing machines, and water pumps etc
- Personalised advice on choosing the right generator for your home
The Power Up Mirboo North info night will be held at 6:30pm on Wednesday 19 March at the Walter J Tuck Recreation Reserve, where a delicious light supper and refreshments will be on offer.
Matt Holland from Prolec Solutions will be presenting and taking questions on backup power and generator safety.
This information night is being organised by Mirboo Country Development Inc (MCDI) thanks to energy resilience grant funding from AusNet and the Mirboo North & District Community Foundation.
So, don’t be caught unprepared the next time the power goes out. Come along, get informed, and ensure your household is ready for whatever comes next!
