🌿 TREE SALE THIS FRIDAY! 🌿

The countdown is on! Our annual Native Plant Sale is happening this Friday and we're excited to showcase some of the amazing plants we have available.

🌱 Pre-orders are still welcome! Simply send us a message, give us a call, or email us and we'll have your order ready for collection.

🎄 Don't forget about our Christmas in July Raffle!
Tickets are available:
🎟️ $2 each or 3 for $5

You can purchase raffle tickets:
📍 Tuesday & Wednesday between 11am and 2pm at Minlaton Town Hall
📍 Fridays at our Trees Program

🌟 Week 6 Recap 🌟

We've had another fantastic week at YP Leisure Options!

This week in Arts & Craft, we continued working on our exciting collaboration with La'Arche Adelaide, *"Life As I See It."* Through this project, members have been creating artwork that reflects who they are, their life experiences, important people and places, and what matters most to them. With the wonderful support of Elanore, members have explored questions such as *"What makes me happy?"*, *"Who supports me?"* and *"How do I express myself?"* Most of the artworks are now complete or receiving their finishing touches, and we can't wait to see them displayed at Ballara as part of SALA Week later this year. 🎨💙

On Wednesday, we enjoyed a delicious warm Chicken Caesar Salad prepared by Emily. 🥗 We also spent time learning important safety skills, including how to stay safe at home, what to do if we experience a fall, how to safely get ourselves back up, and what steps to take if nobody is around to assist. The group shared great ideas and learnt practical strategies to help maintain independence and wellbeing.

Friday saw our volunteers hard at work preparing the nursery for next week's Native Plant Sale. 🌱 A huge thank you to everyone who helped get things ready. We can't wait to welcome visitors and showcase the amazing work that has gone into the nursery.

As we head into the long weekend, we would like to wish everyone a safe and relaxing break. If you're travelling, please take care on the roads, stay warm, and enjoy the extra time with family and friends.

🎄🎁 CHRISTMAS IN JULY RAFFLE 🎁🎄

Our Christmas in July Raffle is officially underway!

We've got some fantastic prizes up for grabs, including:
🥇 First Prize a winter wine warmer hamper
🥈 Second Prize a warm hot water bottle and a lovely bottle of wine with some chocolate
🥉 Third Prize a cute Santa mug with some special homemade hot chocolate mix created by one of our members

Tickets are just:
🎟️ $2 each
🎟️🎟️🎟️ 3 for $5

You can purchase tickets:
📍 At Minlaton Town Hall on Tuesdays and Wednesdays between 11:00am and 2:00pm
🌿 At our Trees Program on Fridays

All funds raised help support our programs and activities, so every ticket purchased makes a difference.

🌟 Week 5 Recap 🌟

What a fantastic week we've had at YP Leisure Options!

On Tuesday, our cooking group whipped up some delicious savoury muffins and peach cobbler (check out the recipe below). Meanwhile, the Skills Cooking Group is just about ready to finalise the native edible plants for our front garden project. 🌿

Wednesday saw the members take charge of planning their own BBQ lunch with a budget of $75 – and they came in well under budget! The ladies got busy in the kitchen while the men enjoyed a catch-up and helped organise all the extra bits and pieces needed for the day. 🍔🌭

Friday was another great day at the nursery. We sold a few native plants, planted more muntries, and enjoyed spending time together and sharing plenty of laughs. 🌱

All in all, Week 5 was an absolute blast!

Our raffle tickets are now available to purchase and all funds raised will go back into supporting our programs and activities. 😊

Tickets can be purchased:
🌿 At the Minlaton Town Hall during program hours (Tuesdays & Wednesdays between 11am–2pm)
🌿 Fridays at the Trees Nursery
🌿 At our upcoming Tree Sale
🌿 By messaging, calling or emailing us to organise tickets

You may also spot some of our members out and about with leisure options staff selling tickets during community outings over the next few weeks. 😊

Due to a scheduling mix-up, we’ve made the decision to move our Native Tree Sale from June 5th to Friday June 12th so our wonderful members can be there on the day helping with the sale 💚

Today our members spent some time creating thank you cards for our amazing volunteers as part of Volunteer Week 💙

We chatted about what volunteers do, why they are so important, and all the different ways they help make our days brighter, more fun, and more supported. From helping out at programs, lending a hand on outings, sharing a laugh, or just being a friendly face, our volunteers truly make a difference every single day.
