This National Reconciliation Week, Care in Motion proudly joins in recognising and reflecting on the importance of reconciliation. 🀝

We acknowledge the Traditional Owners of the lands we live and work on, and pay our respects to Elders past and present. 🌿

This year’s theme, All In For Reconciliation, reminds us that we all have a part to play in building a more connected and respectful future. ✨

πŸš— Volunteering can take many forms, and every contribution makes a difference β€” whether it is driving someone to an appointment, sharing a conversation, or offering companionship and support.

πŸ™ To all of our volunteers, thank you for being part of the Care in Motion Team and for helping make our communities stronger, kinder and more connected.

As an older person receiving government-funded aged care – either in your own home or in an aged care home – you have rights. The Statement of Rights, which is included in the Act, gives you the right to speak up, to be treated with respect, and to make choices about your aged care. Providers and aged care workers are legally obliged to deliver services in line with these rights.

Enshrined in the Statement of Rights is your right to equitable access, but what does this mean?
Your needs in aged care are assessed fairly, including your history, culture, and health conditions, ensuring that cultural connections and any health conditions are considered.

If you feel that your rights are not being upheld, contact the Aged Care Advocacy Line on 1800 700 600

To find out more about your rights, visit https://opan.org.au/toolkit/statement-of-rights/
