A very warm welcome to the 45 members who have joined our U3A this year.

SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT

Members Meetups will be held every Tuesday commencing 9th June at the Harry Higgs Room from 9am to 10.30am until the end of Term 2. It will be an opportunity to share a cuppa and meet other members. We look forward to enjoying your company.

This course was successfully offered in Term 1 and the attending members benefited from the experience, skills and knowledge of Tutor Phil Holleley. We are fortunate to be offering the next steps in our path to digital literacy in Term 3.

Discover what AI can do for you, what Apps can make life easier
& how to use your device for everyday tasks and entertainment.

A Diplomatic Life
Bob Bowker will discuss some of the challenges that arise as an Australian ambassador, and shed light on what diplomacy entails, both abroad and in Canberra. It will include discussion based on personal experience of dealing with consular issues and crisis situations, inputs to foreign policy, trade policy decisions and interactions with foreign governments.

SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT – Two History Talks.
We have the pleasure of offering two sessions of history on Wednesday 29 April at the Harry Higgs Room. Peter Lacey, President of the South Coast History Society, will present the following:

The 1960s Sexual Revolution at 10.30 to 12.00pm.
This is history at its most enticing – a single topic, clearly explained and all wrapped up in just 90 minutes! Which means you’ll leave with the satisfaction of having learned a little more about our incredible past. Join us when we discuss the 1960s
Sexual Revolution – one of the very small number of influential ‘revolutions”that had
enormous worldwide effects. A major contributing factor to the 1960s Sexual Revolution was the introduction of The Pill but many, many other influences and
events contributed to making this such a cataclysmic ‘revolution’.

South Coast Shipwrecks commencing at 14.00 to 15.30 is the second presentation.
Up until the 1950s, ships were the lifeline connecting South Coast residents, farmers and businesses to the outside world. However, this vital link came with significant risks, leading to around 200 shipwrecks along the South Coast. This presentation delves into where and why these shipwrecks occurred, sharing stories of some of the
most fascinating wrecks. Attendees will gain a deeper appreciation of the crucial role shipping played in the region’s history and the frequent perils faced by those who took to the sea.

The AGM today had a great turn out! Thank you everyone for coming and showing your support for this wonderful organisation! We welcomed a new Committee Member, Noelene Hunt, and look forward to working with her. Thank you Noelene.

As a member you have been able to log into your Member Portal to see and enroll in the course(s) of your choosing, however our U3A website has recently been updated so that you can also do that directly from there.
Open your browser to our home page (https://u3amiltonulladulla.org.au) and click on the Quick Links drop-down list at the top right hand corner of the page, there you will see a link to Courses 2026.

That page displays all remaining 2026 Term Dates and all current courses, and there are various options for displaying the courses. After choosing and checking out all your course selections, members just need to supply their U3A email address and that's it - done! ✅

If you know someone who would like to join but is curious about what we offer, they can also select courses. Non members will then automatically be sent a New Member Form if they continue the process and wish to join us.

Attention Valued Members - Notice of Annual General Meeting
2:00pm Wednesday 15th April, 2026 at the Ulladulla Bowling Club, in the upstairs room.
The business of the meeting will include presentation of reports, declaration of all committee positions vacant, and election of a new committee.
Please note that nominations for committee positions are due via email to: [email protected] or, by post to the Secretary, U3A Milton
Ulladulla Inc., PO Box 530, Ulladulla 2539, to be received no later than 5pm, Wednesday 8th April 2026.
There are several positions vacant so please consider nominating. There will be support provided to help new committee members with their positions.
All attendees must be financial members, so please wear your membership badge to the AGM, (and all classes).
All information has also been emailed to all paid, active members.
