A message of support for our volleyball family in Victoria.
Volleyball Queensland is deeply saddened by the tragic passing of 14-year-old Tenesha Fieldsend, a junior player with Latrobe Valley Volleyball, following a road accident while travelling home with her family from the Volleyball Victoria Junior Country Championships in Horsham.
Tenesha had just celebrated a bronze medal with her Under 17 girls team. She will be remembered as a bright, bubbly young person and the heart of her team.
Our thoughts are with the Fieldsend family, Teneshaβs friends, teammates, coaches and the entire Victorian volleyball community during this incredibly difficult time. We also extend our heartfelt wishes for recovery to her younger sister and everyone affected by this tragedy.
A GoFundMe has been established to support the Fieldsend family as they navigate this unimaginable loss and the challenges ahead. Volleyball Queensland will be making a contribution, and we encourage our Queensland volleyball community to show their support if they are able.
