Our Community Supermarket might have a home in Millicent, but the people we support come from right across the Limestone Coast. 🌏❤️

There are some things nobody should have to go without.

Nappies for your baby.
Sanitary products when you get your period.
Incontinence products when your body decides it no longer cares about your dignity OR your washing schedule.

At Limitless Community, these items are FREE.

No judgement. No awkward interrogation. No need to explain your entire financial history just because you need a packet of nappies.

Because when money is tight, these aren't the things people can simply “go without.”

And unfortunately, they're expensive.

We hear a lot about food insecurity and cost-of-living pressures (and rightly so) but sometimes hardship looks like a parent trying to stretch the last few nappies until payday.

It looks like someone using toilet paper because they can't afford period products.

It looks like an older person rationing continence aids because their pension has to cover food, electricity and medication too.

That's the human side of hardship that isn't always talked about.

LIMITLESS COMMUNITY: Powered by humans, caffeine, questionable ideas… and a whole lot of heart. 😂

It’s easy to talk about programs, services, funding and community support.

But behind all of that are people.

It’s the mum who comes in needing groceries because there’s four days until payday and the cupboards are empty.

It’s the person who needs a little help with fuel so they can actually get to an appointment.

It’s someone having an absolutely rubbish week who just needs another human to say, “Come on, we’ll figure something out.”

It’s our volunteers showing up, moving boxes, sorting food, answering messages and somehow managing to keep things going with $3, a roll of sticky tape and pure determination. 😂

That’s Limitless Community.

We’re not interested in building something shiny just so it looks impressive on Facebook.

We want to build things that actually make life easier for people in our community.

And there is SO much more we would love to do.

🌱 Get community gardening projects happening
🚗 Revamp our community transport options
🏕️ Work towards a pod trailer to provide a safer option for people sleeping rough
🥫 Keep our Community Supermarket stocked with affordable food and clothing
❤️ Grow our Community Fund so we can continue helping when someone hits one of those “I genuinely don't know what I'm going to do” moments
🤝 And create more practical, human-centred support right here in the Limestone Coast.

The problem?

Apparently good intentions are still not accepted as legal tender. Rude. 😂

So we’re asking our community to help us keep building.

You don't have to donate hundreds of dollars. $5 matters. $10 matters. $20 matters. A business sponsorship matters. A fundraiser matters. Sharing this post matters.

Because when lots of people give a little, suddenly we can do a lot.

And the best part?

Your support doesn't disappear into some mysterious corporate abyss.

💜 NEED DOESN’T END AT 5PM. 💜

Imagine it’s 7pm.

Your children are hungry, there’s nothing left in the cupboard, and payday is still days away.

Or it’s Sunday afternoon and you’ve got $4 left, the fuel light is on, and you’re wondering how you’re going to get the kids to school tomorrow.

Maybe something has happened suddenly and you’re scared, overwhelmed and simply don’t know who to call.

Then you start looking for help…

Closed.
Closed.
Closed until Monday.

But hunger doesn’t know what business hours are.

Financial hardship doesn’t take weekends off.

And crisis certainly doesn’t wait politely until 9am Monday morning.

At Limitless Community, some of the requests that stay with us the most are the ones that come after hours, when someone has exhausted every other option and finally works up the courage to say:

“I need help.”

We never want someone to feel ashamed for saying those words.

So when we can, we answer.

After 5pm.
On weekends.
When it’s inconvenient.
When the doors might technically be closed.

Because the person reaching out isn't an inconvenience.

They’re a person.

A mum. A dad. A grandparent. A young person. A neighbour.

Someone in our community who is having a really hard day and needs to know that somebody still cares.

We can't fix every problem.

But sometimes a bag of groceries, some fuel, a little practical help or simply having someone answer can be the difference between feeling completely alone and knowing:

“Someone has my back.”

💜 That is the community we want to live in.

And that is the community we will keep trying to build.

Because compassion should never have opening hours. 💜

This week, we had the privilege of helping four local Limestone Coast families with emergency food, fuel and school supplies.

For some, it meant being able to put dinner on the table.
For others, it meant enough fuel to get to work or medical appointments.
And for a few kids, it meant walking into school with the supplies they needed instead of feeling like they were going without.

These moments remind us that people aren't asking for luxury, they're asking for a chance to get through another week.

Every tin of food, every litre of fuel, every exercise book and pencil makes a difference. It tells someone, "You've got a community behind you."

To every person who donates, volunteers, shops with us or simply shares our posts... thank you. You are part of every family we help, even if you never get to meet them.

If you'd like to help us support the next family who reaches out, we'd love your support. Together, we can make sure no one has to choose between putting fuel in the car, buying school supplies, or putting food on the table.

We've been a little quiet lately... 👀

Don't worry, we haven't disappeared or been buried under a mountain of paperwork (although it was a close call! 😂).

Like many community organisations, we've been feeling the effects of funding changes, which means some of our programs have had to become smaller or pause altogether. While that's disappointing, it's also given us time to look at how we can build something even better for our community.

That said, we're still here doing what we do best! 💚
🛒 Our Community Supermarket continues to provide low-cost food and clothing to individuals and families across our community.
💚 Our Limitless Community Fund is also still available, providing financial assistance to people facing hardship whenever we're able.

With the right funding and community support, we'd love to bring even more services back to our community, including:
🚌 A revamped community transport service to help people get where they need to go.
🛏️ A purpose-built pod trailer that can provide practical support and essential supplies to people experiencing homelessness and sleeping rough across our region.

These are projects we're incredibly passionate about, and we know they could make a real difference.
