Adelaide PHN recently hosted a session focusing on refugee health in general practice with key speakers Dr Muzzam Rifat from Ingle Farm Medical Centre and Bridgit McAteer from STTARS.

Dr Rifat shared valuable insights on using clinical tools and key considerations when providing holistic care to the refugee community. Bridgit spoke about the importance of our Adelaide Refugee and New Arrivals Program (ARANAP), specifically how it provides wrap-around care coordination and health literacy education to the refugee and newly arrived community.

Thank you to everyone for attending and those practices for their dedication to supporting one of our region's most vulnerable community groups.

Adelaide PHN's Digital Health Team recently attended the 23rd Successes and Failures in Telehealth Conference, presenting the excellent work they have achieved with our Telehealth in Residential Aged Care Homes (RACH) Program.

The team presented how we are -

✔️ Improving access to timely care for residents by funding the purchase of telehealth devices.
✔️ Strengthening staff capabilities to coordinate telehealth consultations appropriately.
✔️ Connecting aged care homes with primary care providers to deliver telehealth consultations to residents.

To date, we've seen over 70% of RACHs in our region participate in our grant program, enhancing their telehealth infrastructure and enabling 7,000 residents the choice of timely access to much-needed care via telehealth.

Well done to the team 👏
