The purpose of the Council is to provide direct relief and assistance to emerging communities and refugees in the Sunraysia / Northern Mallee area. This is done by providing services aimed at meeting the needs of settlers who are members of the β€˜Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) community. OBJECTIVES:
- To provide information and referral services to community groups and individuals wh

o have settled in the region.
- To advocate on behalf of refugees and members of the CALD community who are living in the Sunraysia/Northern Mallee region.
- To advocate on behalf of the CALD community in policy development at all levels of government.
- To address settlement concerns of CALD settlers.
- To provide support to emerging ethnic community organisations.
- To promote awareness of the presence and needs of emerging communities and refugees amongst mainstream service providers.
- To promote greater appreciation of the diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds of migrants/refugees amongst the local community.
- To identify and address service delivery gaps in CALD service provision.
- To facilitate and deliver such services as may be necessary to achieve any of the foregoing objectives.

Need someone to talk to? We are here to support you with wellbeing, healthy relationships, and strengthening family connections.

In collaboration with MSAU-MDVS, we offer free and confidential fortnightly consultations for individuals and families seeking support, guidance, or simply a listening ear.
