First opening our doors to the public in February 2007, Sunraysia Cancer Resources (SCR) commenced in November 2006 with a seeding grant from Cancer Australia (Australian Government) to enhance and improve cancer services, provide supportive programs and resources to people living with a cancer diagnosis. The grant was initially only provided for a period of three years, after which SCR had to bec

ome self-sufficient. Since this initial seed grant, the SCR committee, volunteers, supporters and community have worked tirelessly to continue to provide support, information, and assistance for individuals and families to access our services who are faced with living with a life-threatening Cancer diagnosis in our community. SCR’s aim is to ‘make the journey a little easier’ by assisting individuals and families to navigate their way through the maze of emotions, information needed and strategies to deal with the road ahead of them. SCR is situated in Mildura, Victoria, however the services offered are equally available to both NSW and Victorian residents in both North West Victoria and Far South West of NSW. SCR is located at 210 Thirteenth Street Mildura, with the following opening hours. Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri 0930-330 Closed Wed, Public Holidays & Weekends.

This National Volunteer Week, we extend our heartfelt thanks to all our incredible volunteers. Your generosity, compassion, and dedication make a meaningful difference in the lives of so many people in our community. Thank you for the time, energy, and care you give so selflessly. Join Sunraysia Cancer Resources (SCR) – a vital not-for-profit organisation in Mildura supporting individuals and families through their cancer journey.
We’re seeking a skilled, all-round handy person to help keep our spaces safe, welcoming, and in good repair.
✅ Duties may include:
• Minor carpentry
• Garden upkeep
• General repairs
🕒 Hours: As required (no after-hours unless negotiated)
📌 Requirements:
• Proven handyman skills
• Own tools & reliable transport
• Flexible availability (no on-call unless pre-approved)
💰 Remuneration: Paid
