Mildura Health Foundation Limited is a registered charity to make a difference to healthcare.

Mildura Health Foundation has been established to raise funds to build and operate 10 self-contained apartments for patients undergoing radiation treatment at the Mildura Health Icon Cancer Centre. The patient accommodation supports our vision for Mildura to become the healthcare hub for cancer treatment and for regional people to have access to cancer care closer to home. Following the establishment of Mildura Health Icon Cancer Centre, it is essential we provide patients from outlying areas with easily accessible patient accommodation, walking distance to the Thirteenth Street health precinct. The aim is to raise $5 million dollars through donations and grants.

A social afternoon with an incredible result 🌸

Sunday’s Eden on Dow Garden Party High Tea raised just over $15,200, with $7,611 generously donated to the Foundation.

We extend our sincere thanks to Sue and Don from Eden On Dow Nursery, the crew of volunteers for its wonderful generosity and to everyone who attended, contributed and supported the event.

The Dr. Julie Zrna Centre has already provided a home away from home for more than 90 guests travelling for cancer treatment. 🏠

We are pleased to welcome Bryan Byrnes to our Board as a Volunteer Director. 👋

Bryan brings extensive experience in law, conveyancing and residential property development. His connection to the Foundation's mission is also deeply personal.

"I was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2014 and had to do an eight-week treatment program in Melbourne, so I know all about being displaced from home and work for that period to receive radiation treatment."

Having experienced firsthand the challenges of travelling away from home for treatment, Bryan is passionate about supporting initiatives that help local patients access care closer to their families, friends and support networks.

💜 Investing in the Future of Regional Healthcare 💜

Recently, we had the opportunity to share the Mildura Health Foundation's vision for the future of healthcare in our region, highlighting two significant projects that will make a lasting difference for local patients and families.

The first is the Foundation's next major goal: bringing PET/CT scanning services to Mildura, reducing the need for cancer patients to travel long distances for vital diagnostic and treatment planning services.

We also shared plans for Stage 2 of the Dr. Julie Zrna Centre, which will expand patient accommodation options and provide even more support for people travelling to Mildura for treatment and specialist healthcare services.

These projects are about more than buildings and equipment. They are about improving access to care, easing the burden on patients and their families, and ensuring people across Sunraysia, the Mallee, Western New South Wales and South Australia can access quality healthcare closer to home.
