Hi everyone. It's that time of year again - Christmas party time. Our event is on Monday 7 December at the Worker's. $40 per head -same as last year. Time: 6 for 6:30. Attendance list is in our rooms. Pay in rooms as well by 21 November. The Christmas raffle is up and running. Tickets in our room BUT we need donations to fill the baskets. We are open Saturdays and Mondays so come in with your donations, sign up for the dinner and buy your raffle tickets.

Our October monthly meeting, and delayed AGM, was held on Saturday 3rd. Trevor Aust was our guest speaker and he gave an insightful talk on 'being a JP', as well as chairing our AGM. Thank you Trevor. Was good to see President Sue back in action.

Mildura & District Genealogy Society invite anyone interested in their family history to attend our free 'open day' on Saturday 10th October between 10am and 3pm. Our rooms are located in the Carnegie Centre, Deakin Avenue, accessed via the side entrance.
Find out how to start a family tree, investigate our resources, ask a question - assistance available. Tea and coffee provided.

Dear Members,
A reminder that the October monthly meeting, as well as the 2026 AGM, that was postponed back in August will take place this Saturday the 3rd of October 1.30 at the Carnegie Centre 74 Deakin ave.
We are very pleased to have Trevor Aust JP to conduct the AGM elections.
After the meeting Trevor will tell us all about life as a Justice of the Peace.

At our September monthly meeting held yesterday, Tracey Forbes was our guest speaker. Tracey spoke about the development and processes involved in the publication of 'The Mallee's Living Histories' series of books. These publications emphasise the importance of the lives of ordinary, older citizens. Thank you Tracey for enlightening us about these books and their importance to family history.

The next General Meeting of the Mildura & District Genealogical Society inc. will be held on Saturday 5th September at 1.30pm in the Carnegie Centre.
The Guest Speaker will be Tracey Forbes who will give us an insight into "The Mallee Living Histories" and the forum they will be running in October.
Stay for the usual wonderful afternoon tea and a chat.
Donations for afternoon tea and the raffle welcome. Hope to see you there.

IMPORTANT MESSAGE TO MEMBERS
Our August monthly meeting and our AGM due to be held on Saturday 1st August will, now, not take place. This is because, firstly, the Carnegie Centre will be closed for one week for maintenance and, secondly, our president Sue Clarke is recovering in Melbourne after unscheduled, emergency surgery. The AGM is rescheduled for October. Our next monthly meeting will be on Saturday September 5th.
We wish Sue a speedy recovery and hope to see her back soon.

Today was our annual lunch for our volunteers who give their time to our society. Beautiful flowers and crockery and tasty food was enjoyed by all. Thank you President Sue and helpers.

Our monthly meeting was held, yesterday, Saturday 4th July. Guest speaker, Jade Benham MP, entertained the audience with her personal family history chat. This was made more interesting as Jade's family came from, or lived, in the Swan Hill and Robinvale areas of the Mallee. Family also live in Mildura. Thank you Jade for your time and the information provided. Thank you also to those who provided afternoon tree and raffle prizes.
