Week 7 of EPEC Being a Parent (BaP) Facilitator Training!

This week we explored group processes and dynamics, looking at how groups form, develop and function, and the important role facilitators play in creating a safe and engaging learning environment. Parent Facilitator trainees have also started planning for their facilitation practice sessions next week, taking another exciting step in their journey to becoming confident parent facilitators. We look forward to seeing their hard work come to life! 😊

Term 3 at Meerilinga Beechboro

We are excited to share that the Being a Parent (BaP) program will be running during Term 3 in Beechboro.

This evidence-based, peer-led parenting program supports parents and carers to build confidence, strengthen relationships, and explore practical tools to support children’s development and behaviour in everyday life.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Open to all parents and carers in the City of Swan with children aged 2–11 years

Parents are supported by trained parent facilitators, alongside practitioner guidance, in a welcoming and supportive group environment.

If you’re looking to connect with other parents, take some time for you, learn new strategies, and feel more confident in your parenting journey, we’d love to have you join us.

Week 5 of KidsFAST was another fantastic session, and we were very lucky to have Rachel from Midvale Hub Parenting Service join us to deliver our special presentation on a topic chosen by our parents: Protective Behaviours.

Parents had the opportunity to explore practical ways to support children’s safety, learn about building strong personal safety networks, and develop confidence in having open and honest conversations at home.

There was great discussion and reflection throughout the session, and lots of valuable ideas shared across the group.

Hard to believe we only have three weeks left of this KidsFAST journey!

We’re at Week 5 of our 10-week Parent Facilitator Training for the Being a Parent Program and officially halfway through.

Being a Parent is an evidence-based, peer-led program for parents of children aged 2–11 years.

It’s been a strong few weeks of learning, practice, and reflection with a great group of Parent Facilitator Trainees. We’re seeing skills build each week and growing confidence in both the content and facilitation approach.

Looking forward to the second half of the training as we continue building knowledge, skills, and readiness to deliver the program.

Term 3 programs will be announced soon.

Week 3 of Ellenbrook Community KidsFAST was all about KidsTime 💛

KidsTime is such a special part of the evening. It gives children the opportunity to play, build friendships, grow confidence and connect with their peers in a safe and supportive space.

While the children are busy having fun together, the adults have the chance to take a breath, enjoy some adult conversation and build connections with other parents and carers.

Each week we are seeing new friendships form, confidence grow and our community become more connected. We can’t wait for next week!

Last week was our first session of Ellenbrook Community KidsFAST!

It was a wonderful evening getting to know our families, sharing a meal, and spending time together. We are looking forward to the next 7 weeks ahead and continuing to build connections with the FAST families and community.

A huge thank you to Arbor Grove Primary School for generously allowing us to use their space and supporting the program.

That’s a wrap on our final session of Being a Parent.

This was an incredible group, and we’ve genuinely loved spending the past 9 weeks together. It’s been great to see parents connect, share experiences, and build confidence along the way.

A big thank you to Anne Hamersley Primary School for hosting us and supporting the program.

And a huge congratulations to our Parent Facilitators. Stepping into this role takes commitment, and you should be really proud of what you’ve achieved.
