Better one's own work imperfectly done than another's done well. A season was taken — that is a loss, and it is allowed to be grieved as one. But land that has been burned does not resume the succession it was interrupted in. It starts a different one.

The tradition names prosperity and desire as legitimate aims, not concessions. The line does not fall between kinds of desire — it falls through the middle of each one, at 'not opposed to what is yours to do'.

Nyāsa means a trust. You are the trustee of your feelings, capabilities, body, intellect, money and house — and a trustee has not disposed of the estate. The stage spoken of as the lesser one is the stage that carries the whole structure.
