Burleigh Community Men's Shed

Burleigh Community Men's Shed The Burleigh Community Men's Shed is a space for blokes to socialise, build stuff and learn. We have a relaxed focus on Men's Health and good humour.

The Australian Men’s Sheds Association recognises a Men’s Shed as any community-based, non-profit, non-commercial organisation that is accessible to all men and whose primary activity is the provision of a safe, friendly and healing environment where men are able to work on meaningful projects at their own pace in their own time in the company of other men. A major objective is to advance the well-being and health of their male members and to encourage social inclusion.

Community looking after community.

Practicing skills that we hope to never need.

Why?

Regular CPR Skills updates provide improved:

Muscle memory – pressing down on the chest to the correct depth, rhythm of compressions, 100 to 120pm, maintained without thinking.

CPR Techniques – Pistol grip, head tilt and mouth seal for rescue breaths

Confidence – confidence in your abilities to perform CPR

Keeping up-to-date with current and changed techniques.

🦋 Look who's moved into the Butterfly Garden!

Students came back from school holidays to find a brand-new Richmond Birdwing butterfly waiting for them, handcrafted by Fitzy, Ron and Paul from Burleigh Community Men's Shed. 🌿

We are so grateful for the care and skill that went into creating this butterfly for our primary campus. This is community at its best. 💛

Men’s sheds are community-based, non-profit organisations providing a safe, friendly, and inclusive environment for men to work on projects, learn skills, and socialise. Often acting as a "backyard shed" for those without one, they aim to improve health, reduce isolation, and foster community connection, particularly among retired men.
