Meredith Community Centre Welcome to your Community Centre, a place to learn new things, make new friends and join as a community to make where you live even better!

Meredith Community Centre, Inc. is located in a rural farming district between Ballarat and Geelong. It is part of the Golden Plains Shire and together, with the other 13 Community and Neighbourhood Houses in the Central Grampians Region, seeks to provide a diverse range of courses, services and activities for people of all ages and from a broad section of cultural and socio-economic backgrounds and abilities.

🚒 Come and meet your local emergency services! 🚓

𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝘄𝗲𝗹𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲. 𝗙𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁.

Join us at the Meredith Emergency Services Expo for a community day with CFA, Victoria Police, SES and CERT.

Explore the emergency vehicles, meet the crews and have a go at some hands-on activities.

There'll be plenty of free activities for the kids, including games, face painting and the chance to have a go with a real fire hose.

We'll have a sausage sizzle going throughout the day. There will also be free coffee thanks to Golden Plains Shire Council!

We'll also have Get Fire Ready information and resources available to help you prepare for the upcoming fire season.

SIGN THE PETITION TO KEEP OUR DOORS OPEN!
Years of underfunding mean too many of our Neighbourhood Houses are operating with limited staff and stretched resources — despite growing demand and a rise in complex safety issues, including mental health crises and instances of violence. Houses are being forced to cut open hours, reduce programs, or fundraise just to turn on the lights.
Unless government acts, more doors will close — and communities will lose trusted, safe and inclusive spaces they rely on every day.
This petition urgently calls for the Victorian Government to:
💙Restore funding in real terms for Neighbourhood Houses through a 25% increase
💛Fund the 25 Neighbourhood Houses that do not currently receive any ongoing funding
💗Develop a fund for the establishment of 20 additional Neighbourhood Houses in growth areas
