Yes we broke free 🙌🙌 and dropped off some Be strong and courageous badges before we left!

So if you saw our stories on Instagram our Brave Noah went in for planned surgery* on Tuesday.
We arrived at 12pm hoping the wait wouldn’t be too long and that the surgery itself wouldn’t be too long. Well 4.5hours later Noah finally went in for his procedure and a little over 2 hours later he was out in recovery. You bet I was getting restless towards the 2 hour mark and may have asked Mr HT “should we ask the nurses if they have an update on how he’s going?”… the ever Calm Mr HT “they said they would call me when it’s all done”
Me: “Yeah but still….”
Mr HT’s Phone rings

What was supposed to be just an overnight stay became a 2 night stay. Because well, Noah is Noah. Due to him spiking a fever overnight and being neutropenic - fever means whole blood works/swabs and all, so next day discharge was no longer on the cards.

I had mentioned in my stories that the recovery nurse has mentioned that Noah was very blessed to have parents like us, I told her no, the truth is we are beyond blessed that Noah is our son. Honestly the things this brave boy needs to go through - he is my hero. Always teaching me the true meaning of resilience, strength and how to run the race with patience. Those who have had the privilege of being in Noah’s presence will agree that he teaches all of us the most pure form of love and we are all made better because of him.

Anyway, there is nothing better than having the whole family under the same roof again ❤️ and because we couldn’t celebrate Mr HT’s birthday yesterday, (I did have a chuckle because, Mr HT’s first birthday as a father when Noah was born was also celebrated in the hospital) we will celebrate when he gets home from work 🙌

Thank you for all the messages of love and support, I read them all to Noah and I’m sure all your love keeps him fighting strong! 💪

*For those interested Noah surgery was: Microlaryngoscopy and debridement of suprastomal granulation tissue.
As it was found from when he last went under back in March for his Bone marrow biopsy and Trephine and trache assessment that his had scarring tissue that occcluded almost 100% above the trache.

75% of the graduation was clearer and we were told that in 4-6 weeks he may need to go under again for an look and further removal but we will push that back to the back of our minds for now, because let’s give this brave boy time to recover and all of us to reacclimatise home and get back to routine first!

24/4/26 - Gosh, we are getting old! 16 years since the we took the “I do” vows (add in the 6 years that we “dated” before the big day - Our adventure turns 21!)

16 years ago our younger selves probably would have never imaged the life we have now but here we are! 🙋🏻‍♂️🙋🏻‍♀️👦🏻👧🏻🧒🏻🐥🐥🐥🐶

As with EVERY anniversary in the past few years the following are our words of wisdom that we repeat sharing every year. Because truth be told, life with a courageous child teaches you that each day is a gift, that each day is a day worth celebrating to the fullest ❤️ and each day we are truly thankful to have each other. It doesn’t take a special occasion or date to make the day special, it doesn’t take a special day in order to do special things for each other. And special things don’t have to be extraordinary, all the everyday task done with love that what it’s all about. Marriage is more about the little things than the big. It’s about a lifetime of bringing the best out of each other and working as a team to navigate everything life throws at you.

This year I will add this thou; Life and marriage is like a marathon not a sprint - so fair to say when all is well it’s not “as” tough, throw a medical fragile complex warrior into the mix, well as you can imagine running the marathon gets a lot more complicated. In order for us to be such a strong Team Noah, we must first and foremost be a strong Team Family. 💕 We may be living in our rainbow of chaos, but when the corner stone of all we have built together is the loving God who is in control of it all ❤️ we are truly BLESSED. How so very blessed we are at HT HQ to have such a strong foundation of LOVE.
So 16 years we continue to write let God write our Adventure and as pilgrims on earth we strive to end our race well.❤️
“Let all that you do be done with love.”
1 Corinthians 16:14 NKJV

P.S Thanks for sticking around and it’s time of year that we are working hard on brainstorm on making our 2026 Christmas blessing bags happen! Because time is moving way too quickly 😱

Back in 2008, when attending City Gospel fellowship I recall being told by a dear friend, William that his sister had been involved in an accident due to no fault of her own, she was simply standing outside the Royal Talbot chatting with a friend, before heading in for a tutorial, when she was struck by a car that resulted in a catastrophic spinal injury. 💔

A few years later Will posted a Facebook post about Olivia completing a marathon. I recall him writing that all the other participants had long crossed the finish line and that even the organisers were packing up getting ready to leave but none of that mattered, what mattered was that Olivia too had crossed the finish line, she had pushed herself to complete the race. Everyone was ecstatic for her. To this day I still get a lump in my throat and teary eyes as I recall that post & photo.

Now, to have just read Olivia’s book. Which I had chanced on after scrolling a Bookstagram account and clicked on it because the cover caught my eye. My reaction was a message I sent to Will “Bro!!! YOU DID NOT TELL ME YOUR SISTER WROTE A BOOK!!!!!!”

Let just say the emotions I felt while reading the book were the same as when I read Will’s post all those years ago. 🥹🥹

You, Olivia, are the definition of - The indomitable human spirit and I thank God for orchestrating and preserving your life and so that you can share your story of strength, resilience, love and faith with the world. A real life Wonder Woman.

In your book you briefly mention how during the difficult times some stay and some disappeared, our family has been very blessed that Will is one who stayed and cheered us on with our journey with Noah ❤️
Of course, it’s no surprise Will being the sweet soul he is, was the one who sent me a copy of your book 🥹 after my caps lock message to him 😅

Not many of us can honestly say that we have truly walked in someone else's shoes.
“I was a doctor who had live out what my patients were experiencing…that gave me unique insight and purpose that no textbook or clinical guidelines could ever provide ”
But you, Olivia, have, and your patients are truly blessed because of it ❤️

One day God willing we may meet in person, but I told Will that if that ever happened I’d be so “fan girl” because you are such an inspiration! We have been a little weary here at HT HQ so your book has been a real refreshment for our soul.

It is not by chance that the first offical “Jane Goodall Day” should fall on Good Friday. After all the greatest gift of Easter is HOPE! As the JGIA Jane Goodall Institute Australia said — “Today is Jane Goodall Day. 🌿 Happy 92nd birthday, Jane. Today is also Good Friday — a day the world already sets aside for reflection, for what we have lost, and for what endures. And this year, it carries something more. For the very first time, the whole world is marking Jane’s birthday the way she always asked us to. With hope, turned into action.“

Miss A, as all know had always been so inspired by Dr. Jane so she wanted to make sure she marked the occasion by doing something special. Last week Miss A used some of her saved Chinese new year red pocket money 🧧 at “hammerbarn” (Bunnings) to purchase some native Australian plants so she could to gift them to:
- Her teachers (gifted some last week before school term was out)
- fellow rescue greyhound owners (after all it’s because of Jane we have our rescue greyhound, Rocky!) and it so happens that today we were able to be attend a rescue greyhound walk so some seedlings were gifted today.
- & strangers (we left some on the door steps of houses within the neighbourhood)
to honour Jane’s special day ❤️❤️❤️🥰🥰

Miss A chose this way to celebrate Dr. Jane’s birthday because she wanted others to plant native plant seedling (to attract bees and birds) - To honour Dr Jane’s legacy -as a symbol of Hope for our planet.

But Dr. Jane always wanted young people throught her Roots and Shoots program to care about and help not only environment, animals but to also share kindness to the community.

Today’s we were also able to, with our church, celebrate Easter with some lovely elderly folk at the aged care residential home. Singing some hymns together and sharing the message of Hope.

Dr.Jane simply “just asked us to care. To show up. To look closely at something living and let it matter.”

Miss A hopes that HT HQ did Dr. Jane proud, not just today, but that we all continue to make her proud every single day of our lives because it’s so important to
“Together, we can create a better future for all living things.”
Dr. Jane Goodall

Did you know that there are actually 3 - March babies here at HT HQ? It’s Rocky’s 🥊 6th Birthday today!!!!
Despite being 6 this is his only his second proper birthday celebration! (Miss A made him a doggie birthday cake!)
But why is it that even though he is 6 has his birth has only been celebrated twice?
Because he was only rescued from the horrendous greyhound racing industry less than 2 year ago. We are SO glad that greyhound racing is a thing of Rocky’s past. But greyhound racing is STILL the reality for so many of his fellow fury friends.

Rocky’s birthday wish no doubt is that there will be a WORLDWIDE END to greyhound racing and to see all his greyhound friends find loving forever homes!! Can you help make his wish come true?

Melbourne peeps please head over to and foster/adopt your very own gentle noodle today! For all those in other states and countries check out your local volunteer run greyhound rescue!! We can tell you - you won’t regret it! There are just somethings that only dogs (especially rescues) can teach you.

Keep sending those letters and signing petitions to end greyhound racing! Just as we are for the voice for couragoeus children like Noah, we must also be the voice for gentle giants like Rocky! In the words of Dr Jane Goodall, “Together we can, Together we will, Together we must.”

Happy birthday Rocky 🥊 and sorry I had to do real adulting today and go to work 🤪 so had to abandon you all day until now (hence your sulk face (in stories) this morning even thou we had a early morning birthday walk.
But Rocky boi 🥊 all of us at HT will celebrate you everyday ❤️❤️
Officially a “junior-senior/ matured adult” but regardless of how old you are you will always win
The “best natural eyeliner” award 🥰🥰❤️❤️🤣

13/03/2026

What have you done in the last 24-48 hours?

So for SUPER Noah (I don’t use the word super lightly here) who only recently turned 14, well, his last 24hour involved him getting up at 5am yesterday morning to get him all ready for the hospital for a number of procedures under General Anaesthetics. The battles are everyday for a courageous child - hence SUPER.

Time for a trache assessment (he is a growing boy after all) a Bone marrow aspirate and Trephine 😫 (cos you know quoting haematologist when Noah was a baby “when you are neutropenic and your bone marrow is “funky” it can turn “bad”” so we need to keep an eye on it)
And while his under some dental checking.

I kid you not and all parents of courageous children will feel the same - the image of your child being rolled off to theatre will no doubt bring up some PTSD. 💔 Because every ounce of you wishes you could take their place instead. But we can’t, but what we take comfort in is that he is always in good hands. After all we know that our Heavenly Father who can orchestrate the rising of the sun and going down of the moon, will certainly give the Drs, nurses and medical staff the wisdom and steady hands to work through the procedures.

Between being rolled off until you can breath again in recovery - there’s THE WAIT….which probably often feels longer than it is, but it is always long especially with all that needed to be done. With 3 medical teams ready to do their thing, it’s nothing like a pit stop at the formula1.

But our boy did SO good ❤️ praise the Lord.
He was pretty zonked out all day yesterday and needed to be wrapped up like an Eskimo bc he was shivering and cold from coming out of the anaesthetic.

But we are home now 🙌❤️ and Noah resettling back home.

We are grateful that despite usually needing yearly bone marrow aspirates etc. The last time Noah had a bone marrow aspirate and Trephine was back in 2019. The drs don’t like to put him under just for that so they often go by his overall presentation and try to only tee this procedure up when Noah does need to go under for other things.
Now we wait for the results.

We hoped that your last 24 hours involved being far away from hospitals, involved no pain and no trauma but rather more sunshine(thou currently here in Melbourne 🤣😅 we have our doubts with the sunshine).

Oh and Noah didn’t leave the hospital without making sure he dropped off some blessings badges (made by Miss A) for other courageous children. Sprinkling kindness wherever he goes ❤️

FOURTEEN: 14 😱❤️ today!
FOURTEEN, 14 whole years with you Noah! ❤️

I’ve said this each and every year: Birthday’s for a courageous child as many of you know bring out SO many different emotions. No matter what someone tells you, there is always the underlying thought that lingers at the back of the mind, “How many more of these milestone celebrations will we be gifted?”

These milestones are now often celebrated quietly, no big fanfare because the risks of germs are still our super Noah’s kryptonite
But regardless, it still takes me a quiet moment after the “hype of the day”* to settle before I am able to then settle my mind enough turn my string of thoughts into words.

So Noah, despite not ever speaking a single word your presence continues says a big “I AM HERE” and we are all made better because of that. There are things courageous children teach us that simply cannot be taught by any other.

Noah, you continue to be my glimpse of Heaven. You continue to remind me that we are ALL here on earth on “Gifted time,” that we are but pilgrims on this earth. You continue to teach me never to take a single thing for granted and to choose a grateful heart in all circumstances. You continue to remind me that each day is a gift to be able to do things with the love of God for HIS glory. You continue to remind me daily that we must live a life so selfless that when the day comes to meet our saviour face to face, we can say “Heavenly Father, I have nothing to give you because I have given it all,” and in return to hear the words, “Well done my Good and faithful servant.

I pray, God willing, we get to share many more birthday’s together and I am so very grateful for the 14 that we have already been able to do so - Nakupenda sana Noah ❤️
Feliz cumpleaños te quiero mucho!

This year I cannot wait to bring you into the WORLD OF ALAGAESIA: with the Inheretance cycle & ERAGON ❤️ (they are soooo good!) because after all Noah, you are our boy born in the year of the dragon 🐉

*hype of the day
Mr HT taking us somewhere up into the mountains to an outlook overlooking some Japanese cedars (Noah was initially asleep missing the view) and Rocky 🥊 made us under estimate the slope of the hill and Noah practically had his first “roller coaster” ride while Mr HT Broke a sweat - much to Super T and Super U’s amusement 🤣😂🙌

Blessed First days of 2026 HT Tribe!
Can’t remember the year we decided to post this annual New Year Day photo but it’s always a great reminder that we shouldn’t waste a single moment to do good in the world, no matter our circumstances!!

A Beautiful Day - By India Arie

31/12/2025

And another year - just like that… We started 2025 with Noah in ICU.I’m glad we didn’t have to end the year the same way! Overall, we can say that 2025 was very kind to us in terms of admissions. Only another ICU admission in June and as you all know the most recent one on the wards.

But Courageous children are never out of the woods. This is why we work so tirelessly to do what we do at HT.

If I may be completely honest, this year I found myself at a cross road. I had actually thought about calling it quits on Heavenly Trimmings after this year. We had a few set backs in organising this year’s Christmas blessing bags and I mean 10 years of hustling, surely people are getting sick of us! (If you are not thank you!)

I mentioned this to a few HT tribe members and supporters. But all were so very encouraging and enthusiastic about ensuring we continue to bring blessings to courageous children no matter how big or small. The fact that we had a handful of newcomers who said they would love to continue to contribute to our blessings bags to come, was definitely a source of encouragement. Those that saw me at the cross road, sent nothing but positivity and love which made me reflect deeply. As much as I feel like it’s time, (I mean I keep thinking of the amount of spare time I would have 😂😅 and space in the house) GOD keeps telling me it’s not time. Something in me clearly understands that what we do at HT is not my work, it’s God’s and he’s not done with us yet. What is the purpose of life if it is not given to the service of others. And when “others” is courageous children…well I’d 💯 have no regret giving my life to them.

We know it’s a real honour and privilege for us at HT to be a vessel of God’s goodness and love. We also know that is only made possible through all of you who have helped make what we do a reality. You are the answer to our prayers. We ask God to provide, and he sends us you! This is no small thing, being the answer to someone’s prayer ❤️ - we truly appreciate all those who have supported our cause over the years! You all played and continue to play a vital role in helping us change the world for courageous children.

Thank you everyone who’s stuck around on our HT JOURNEY. May we continue to bring joy to courageous children in the coming year and years. Thank you to each and every one of you who has taken the time through words or actions to remind us that, as the late Dr Jane Goodall said,
“Together we can, together we will, together we must make a change the world”

Wishing all of God’s abundant blessing to you all in the coming new year!

Blessed Christmas HT tribe!
“For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.” - Isaiah 9:6

This Christmas season and every Christmas season we ask ourselves, “At this Christmas when Christ comes, will He find a warm heart?” - Mother Theresa
Because let’s be honest Christmas isn’t Christmas till you have found it in your heart ❤️

As courageous children in the hospital slowly wake up from their Christmas Eve slumber to find Blessing bags at their bedsides we hope their day gets a little brighter.

Wishing our HT tribe the abundant blessings of Christmas, may the true meaning of Christmas fill your hearts and homes.

We are beyond grateful Noah had a good night at home - no medical dramas - YAY!! But we know not all courageous children were able to break free from hospital. We are especially thinking them and all courageous children and their families today, those that are continuing to fight battles and those that who long to be able to touch and kiss their courageous child once more - We hold you in our hearts. ❤️
