Victorian Bull Terrier Rescue Inc. Victorian Bull Terrier Rescue Inc. is a not-for-profit organisation working to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome Bull Terriers. [email protected]

VBTR is a non-profit, volunteer run organisation in, but not exclusive to, Victoria Australia. We are dedicated to rescuing bull terriers left homeless for whatever reason. We strive to work with area shelters and other rescue and humane organisations to develop a network of supporters and volunteers in order to create a better world for homeless bully’s. We place dogs in loving, responsible, committed permanent homes, following a comprehensive adoption/fostering process which includes taking considerable care in finding good matches and educating prospective adopters about the responsibilities and costs of bringing a bull terrier into their homes and lives. VBTR will continue to hold their famous Bully day outs and fundraising activities which includes auctions, raffles, functions. We welcome you to join us in helping to provide a better life for the Bully's in need. VBTR are always looking for help in fostering, transporting, house checks, donations and most importantly by spreading the word.

🚨🚨 URGENT – FOSTER CARERS NEEDED! 🚨🚨

8 DOGS. 3 WEEKS. AND WE NEED YOUR HELP! 🆘🐾

In just three weeks, our small rescue has received requests to assist 8 bull terriers in need.

Our team is working hard behind the scenes to help each of these dogs and will introduce them individually as we’re able to.

But right now, VBTR urgently needs more people ready to step up!

🚨 FOSTER TO ADOPT – Could you be looking to welcome a bull terrier into your family permanently? Fostering with a view to adopting could be the perfect opportunity.

🆘 EMERGENCY FOSTER CARERS – We need people who can offer a safe place at short notice, whether for a few days, weeks or longer.

🐾 DOGS OF ALL AGES & NEEDS – We need a variety of experienced, committed, dog-free homes based in Victoria, to give every dog the best chance.

📣 ALREADY APPLIED TO FOSTER WITH VBTR?

If you’ve previously completed a foster application and/or house check and can help with emergency care, please email [email protected] with your availability from now until the end of January.

🚗 TRANSPORT & HOUSE CHECK VOLUNTEERS NEEDED TOO!

We’re also calling for extra hands to help with transport and house checks over the coming months. A small group of incredible volunteers take on these jobs time and time again, and we’re so grateful for everything they do. ❤️ More helping hands would make an enormous difference!

💰 8 MORE DOGS ALSO MEANS SIGNIFICANT EXPENSES. Veterinary care, food, supplies and transport all add up. Donations, no matter how small, are always appreciated and help us keep saying yes to dogs in need.

🎉Please join us in celebrating the foster fail of this beautiful girl....

Sometimes a dog doesn't just find a home — they find their people 💞

When VBTR needed emergency carers for Heidi, Leanne and Gary didn't hesitate to open their home to her.
Having already been long-term adopters of Chicka and Reggie, they knew the love, patience and commitment that comes with giving a rescue bully a forever home 🥰

It didn't take long for Heidi to make herself at home.
On her very first night, she snuggled straight up beside Gary on the couch and the two of them fell asleep together.
The next morning, Leanne found them still curled up together. 🥹❤️

Heidi is the ultimate 'Velcro Bully' ~ affectionate, cuddly and happiest when she's right beside her people.
She has become Gary's little shadow, keeping him company while Leanne is at work.

She loves her zoomies, sitting on the balcony watching the world go by, and absolutely loves her car rides, making it very clear that wherever Leanne and Gary are going, she is coming too! 🚗🐾😂

Leanne and Gary have affectionately nicknamed her “Frankenweenie”, after the scars she carries from her past. But those scars are just part of Heidi's story — they don't define the loving, happy girl she is today. ❤️

And on the 13th of September, FOSTER officially became FOREVER. 🏡❤️

💖 Amanda, Dean, Evie and Luna, for opening their home and hearts to Heidi and caring for her during her first foster placement.

🤍 PEARL NEEDS A FOSTER HOME 🤍

At just one year old, Pearl is very much a typical young bully — energetic, boisterous, curious and full of enthusiasm 💕 She is still learning the training, structure and boundaries she needs to help her channel all that energy appropriately.

Pearl is toilet trained and has previously lived inside. Like many young Bull Terriers, she can be creative and enthusiastic in her environment 🤭, so she will benefit from guidance, supervision and plenty of appropriate engagement.

Pearl is also an accomplished jumper, so secure, appropriate fencing is essential.

What Pearl really needs now is someone prepared to start from the beginning and show her how to be the brilliant dog we know she can become.

Pearl is looking for:
🐾 A Victorian based foster or foster to adopt home
🐾 An experienced Bull Terrier or strong-breed home
🐾 Someone committed to training, boundaries and consistency
🐾 Plenty of appropriate exercise and mental stimulation
🐾 Secure fencing
🐾 A home willing to work on impulse control and manners
🐾 Ongoing socialisation and positive experiences
🐾 No cats or small animals
🐾 VBTR may consider placing Pearl with a resident dog, provided the dogs are well matched and the resident dog can cope with Pearl’s enthusiastic play

Pearl is only one year old and has so much potential. With structure, patience and someone willing to put the work in, she can continue learning and developing into a wonderful companion.

Pearl needs a foster carer who can give her the chance to learn what life as a loved, included and well-guided family dog is supposed to look like. 🤍

This handsome little man came into rescue early in June .
After completing his cancer treatment and given the all clear the search for his forever home began 🤓
Then along came Beth , love at first sight they were a perfect match 💕🐾🙌

Brax has embraced his new seaside lifestyle full of love and adventures with Beth like a pro 🥇✅

A special appreciation and thanks to Brax’s first foster carer Caren for all her dedication & TLC seeing Brax through his cancer treatment 🫶🙏

A huge thank you to all our supporters that continue to make these adoptions possible 🙌♥️

Just wanted to say a special thank you to the wonderful team at VBTR for bringing Brax into my life.
I had tears of joy when Greer rang and told me the fantastic news and I remember getting ready, like it was a first date, when I went to pick him up from foster mum Caren, who was there for him through his cancer treatment.
Margy has been my ‘bully buddy’ and I’m forever grateful for her support, advice and kindness.
Braxy has become my little shadow, my little man and I absolutely adore him. I couldn’t imagine life without him. We have our routines, a cuppa in the morning sun together sitting on the back door step, walks down to the foreshore and lots of cuddles on the couch.
He loves coming to Bunnings with mum. He is always happy, loves meeting people and other dogs (walking buddy is a Red Heeler called Archie) has made friends with the local swans and shares his bones with the resident magpie.
He is asleep in my lap while I’m writing this, my heart is filled with so much love for this little man, he makes me smile. Thank you VBTR 🥰🥰🥰🐶🐶🐶
