Dancing Through the Greek Islands - Traditional Greek Island Dance Workshop PART 2

“So that we may be One” ☝️

With the blessing of His Grace Bishop Evmenios Bishop of Chora, our Dance Academy has the pleasure of hosting the very first of many, Dance Workshops which featured dances from 5 renowned islands which are authentically taught throughout our community.

With over 180 people in attendance, a lit bonfire and joyful spirits, the following islands were presented in the workshop:

Lefkada - Lefkadian brotherhood

Kefalonia - Chora Dance Academy

Kalymnos - Kalymnian Brotherhood

Cyprus - CCMV

Crete - Cretan Brotherhood Melbourne

To the groups and teachers who participated, a huge thank you and many blessings for your help and support to make these events happen.

A very huge thank you also to all those who ventured to join in on learning and making the night such a success.

Many more great things to come !

Journey to Cappadocia

What a beautiful day filled with faith, laughs, joy and of course - Dance !

Chora Dance Academy over the weekend had the great blessing to perform at the Saint Paraskevi Festival in St.Albans. The festival was to celebrate not only Saint Paraskevi but also to remember 35 whole years of the parish.

The dance academy along with various other groups of Melbournes Greek community performed a medley of dances from all over Greece.

Chora dance academy performed a teaser medley of dances from Cappadocia, honouring the Patron Saint of Australia - Saint Paisios the Athonite who along with Saint Arsenios originate from there.

Well done to our beautiful team of brave and dedicated dancers, may you continue to grow and unite all through your joy !
