Ever wondered what actually happens when pollution enters the Birrarung? Join Environment Protection Authority Victoria and the City of Melbourne for a hands-on, behind-the-scenes look at how pollution is detected, monitored and prevented.

Follow pollution from street to river on an interactive drain chase, test water quality with real field equipment, and explore the EPA Pollution Response Vehicle up close. A productive morning at Belmont Park, with plenty of hands making light work. ๐ŸŒฟ๐Ÿ’ช

This time we had a photographer in tow, who managed to capture some fantastic moments throughout the day. It's always great to see the hard work, teamwork, and community spirit reflected in beautiful photos.

A huge thank you to everyone who volunteered their time and energy to help keep Belmont Park beautiful!

On 13 June Friends of Belmont Park Balwyn had their first Community Planting Day.

Around 40 volunteers planted 800 small bird habitat plants in a bit over 1 hour!

An amazing effort particularly in view of how bad the weather forecast was.

Yesterday we cleared more of the Panic Veldt (bright green grass in the pictures) - that is happily setting seed - around the perimeter of this newly planted bed (Zone 2) and mulched the w**ded area.

This will hopefully reduce the likelihood that our new plants get smothered by w**ds.

Before today's Friends of Belmont Park Balwyn bi monthly working bee - I spent 5 minutes picking up litter from the gutter.

Keeping our waterways healthy literally starts at home.

Picking up litter from the gutter is an easy and effective way for everyone to be part of the solution.
