Earlier this year newly arrived refugees to shared how their lives have been unfolding since receiving support through the Community Refugee Integration and Settlement Pilot (CRISP) program.

One young man supported through CRISP arrived in Australia earlier this year after fleeing conflict and disruption to his education. Despite never being able to finish high school, he enrolled in TAFE and has now proudly completed a Certificate III in Information Technology. Alongside full-time study, he works casually and is already planning to continue with further qualifications in cyber security.

Another participant, who arrived in Australia in 2023 with no English, has shown extraordinary perseverance. Determined to resume the PhD research she was forced to leave behind, she dedicated countless hours to learning English and preparing for university-level study. Recently, her efforts were recognised when she received a Super Student Award, a powerful affirmation of her commitment and resilience.

🙏These stories are a testament to what is possible when people are welcomed, supported and given the opportunity to rebuild. Through CRISP, communities walk alongside refugees as they rediscover purpose, belonging and hope.

As we celebrate the final Sunday of Advent, we reflect on God’s profound love for all people. A love that is made visible when He sent His Son into the world. Each of us is created in God’s image, wonderfully diverse yet united by the beauty of His creation. Holding this truth in our hearts invites us to love one another more deeply.

🏫🤝 Pope Leo XIV Meets the President of Mongolia

On 4 December 2025, Pope Leo XIV welcomed the President of Mongolia, H.E. Ukhnaagiin Khürelsükh, to the Vatican. The President also met with Cardinal Pietro Parolin, Secretary of State, to discuss the strong and growing relationship between the Holy See and Mongolia.

Their conversations highlighted shared hopes for deeper cultural collaboration and recognised the positive contribution of the Catholic Church in Mongolia, particularly through its work in education and healthcare, serving communities with care and dignity.

Joy is at the heart of this Sunday’s celebration as we draw closer to the birth of Christ. As we wait in hope, we are invited to share that joy with our families, our parishes and our communities, united as brothers and sisters in faith.

By offering a place for prayer, contemplation and gathering, the church becomes a home of belonging, where joys and sorrows can be shared and where pastoral care can flourish. Church buildings provide spaces for Mass, catechism and community life, and they offer a safe home for missionary priests and sisters who serve with dedication and love.

Why Do They Need Your Help? 🏫👂

The Co-Action Deaf School continues to face immense challenges, and your support can make a life-changing difference. While the school is a safe haven for children who are deaf, the learning environment is far from what they deserve. Classrooms are under-resourced, lacking basic furniture, learning materials, and the technology needed to support inclusive education. The building itself is old, worn, and urgently in need of repair.
