We are Saman Melbourne, a dance group based in Melbourne. Our members are mix of Indonesian, Australian and other nationalities who simply loves Saman dance and Indonesian cultures and art. Saman is a popular dance from Aceh and is well-known as "Dance of Thousand Hands". The dance is performed by a group of people forming a line and characterised by its fast-paced rhythm and harmony between dance
rs. As a dance group, we aim to introduce Saman dance to wider Australian community through performances, regular workshops and also workshops to local schools and universities. Whether you want to dance, sing, play percussion of simply support us in any other ways, you are more than welcome to join us in our regular weekly practices.
