"So That No Memory Is Lost" – A Heartfelt Thank You! 🧠🤍
We are absolutely overwhelmed with gratitude! Our fundraising event this past Sunday, April 19th, at the Kef House was a beautiful success, showing once again just how much our community can achieve when we stand together. 🏛️✨
Thanks to your incredible generosity, we were able to raise a significant contribution that will go directly to RMIT University’s vital dementia research program. Every donation made is a step forward in honoring the wonderful memory of Spyridoula Floratos.
A Day to Remember:
📜We began with a touching poem, "Dementia," shared by Gerasime Clonis, which set a truly special tone for the day.
💡 Distinguished Professor Apostolopoulos fascinated us all with her talk on health, longevity, and the latest steps toward preventing dementia.
🎸Our hearts went out to Dimitris Floratos, who spoke bravely about his family’s journey and how dementia affected their lives. It was followed by a beautiful musical tribute to their mom by her sons, George and Bill Floratos.
🎶 Spyros Vintzetsatos (Σπυρος Μελβουρνη) volunteered his time and talent to fill the room with music and kefi! We were also blown away by Floratos, who donated her stunning "Heart of Gold" painting (don't forget, it will be raffled this Father’s Day!).
🎤 A big thank you to journalist Dorothy Hatzopoulou and Evangelos Plokamakis for guiding us through the program so gracefully.
With over 90 guests, the room was buzzing with warmth, delicious Greek treats, and a shared mission to make a difference. 🕊️
Thank you for helping us turn a legacy of love into a legacy of hope. This is just the start—stay tuned, as Professor Apostolopoulos will be back soon for more talks on health and longevity at Kef House!
