A truly special day at Fronditha Care🥹💛

Our junior and senior groups had the privilege of sharing their love of music and dance with the residents, bringing joy, energy, and plenty of smiles along the way. Seeing the community come together through performance was incredibly meaningful, and it was heartwarming to watch so many people singing, clapping, and enjoying the moment with us.

Days like these remind us of the power of music and dance to connect people across generations. We are so grateful for the opportunity to share something we love and help brighten the day of others.

Moments from our recent commemorative event honouring the memory of the Greeks of Pontos and remembering the lives lost during the genocide🕯️

Coming together as a community to gather, reflect, and remember is an incredibly important way of keeping our history and cultural identity alive. These commemorative events create space for younger generations to connect with their heritage, hear the stories of those who came before us, and ensure that our traditions, memories, and resilience continue to live on through community.

Thank you to everyone who joined us in reflection, remembrance, and community as we paid tribute through culture, music, and shared memory.

May we continue to honour their legacy for generations to come🌹

Today, we stand in solemn remembrance of our ancestors, the resilient and courageous Greeks of Pontos, who endured genocide, persecution, displacement, and unimaginable suffering during one of the most devastating tragedies experienced by Hellenism in the twentieth century.

Between 1914 to 1923, hundreds of thousands of innocent Pontic Greeks suffered persecution, deportation, death marches, exile, and the destruction of their ancestral homeland. More than 353,000 Pontic Greeks perished through unimaginable violence and cruelty, while countless families were displaced, separated, and forever scarred by the atrocities committed against them.

The pain and trauma carried by the survivors did not end there. These wounds remain etched into the collective memory of Pontic Greeks across the world and continue to live through generations as a reminder of both profound loss and extraordinary endurance.

For Pontic Greeks everywhere, this is not a day of celebration, dancing, or festivities. It is a day of mourning, reflection, and honour. A day to stand in remembrance of the lives stolen, the communities destroyed, and the culture that so many tried to erase.
Yet despite everything, the Pontian spirit did not falter.

It survived through grief and exile. It lived on through our language, our songs, our lyra, our dancing, our traditions, and our unwavering sense of identity. Today, we honour not only the suffering of our ancestors, but also their resilience, strength, and the legacy they carried forward against all odds.

Across the world, Pontic Greeks unite in remembrance and in truth, ensuring that the voices of our ancestors are never silenced and that history is never forgotten.

We remember their suffering.
We grieve for the innocent lives lost.
We honour their memory.
We will never forget.

In remembrance.

Join us for an afternoon of reflection, storytelling, and community as we honour the memory of the Greeks of Pontos who endured genocide, persecution, displacement, suffering, and loss during the early 20th century.

Though generations have passed, the pain carried by survivors and their descendants remains deeply felt. Yet through our culture, traditions, music, language, and stories, the Pontian spirit continues to live on - resilient, proud, and unforgotten.

Together, we gather to share memories, hear personal stories, and ensure that the experiences and suffering of our ancestors are never forgotten.
