At Global Viet Women, we strongly believe that every migrant journey carries a story of courage, resilience, and innovation.

That's why we're excited to see the City of Melbourne launching Season 2 of Making it in Melbourne - a podcast series celebrating migrant entrepreneurs who are shaping the future of our city through business, leadership, and community impact.

As a community that supports Vietnamese women and professionals in Australia and around the world, we know firsthand the challenges and opportunities that come with building a career, business, and identity in a new country. These conversations are powerful reminders that diverse perspectives drive innovation and create meaningful change.

We encourage our GVW members, aspiring entrepreneurs, business owners, and professionals to join this inspiring event, connect with like-minded leaders, and hear firsthand from founders whose cultural backgrounds have become their competitive advantage.

In a city as multicultural as Melbourne, migrant entrepreneurs play a vital - yet often under‑recognised - role in driving innovation and connecting our city to the world. Did you know that migrants are twice as likely to become entrepreneurs?
Their stories often go untold and we want to change this!

The Making it in Melbourne podcast brings you conversations with migrant entrepreneurs reshaping our city’s business landscape. Season 2 features five Melbourne startup founders from different cultural backgrounds, the podcast delves deep into their entrepreneurial journeys and explores how they got started, how their cultural backgrounds have influenced their approach to business, what they've learned along the way and their tips for other aspiring entrepreneurs.
The launch event will celebrate the diverse voices driving Melbourne's future.

Featuring a sneak peak at the podcast, a live Q&A with podcast host Jeanette Cheah, Co-Founder of HEX and the five founders featured in season 2 of the podcast; as well as the opportunity to meet and network with the participants in this year's Melbourne Migrapreneurs and other current or aspiring entrepreneurs from different walks of life over afternoon tea.

One-year Anniversary of Global Viet Women - built on purpose, driven by community 🌸🌼🪷

Global Viet Women (GVW) is a global initiative dedicated to empowering Vietnamese women worldwide by enhancing their capabilities, expanding commercial opportunities, and fostering cultural exchange.

In just one year, this vision has grown into a living community - where Vietnamese women connect, learn, and lead across borders.

Through our 3C approach, we have built a foundation for long-term impact:

🌱 Capability Building - through 02 workshops and 01 talk shows with mentorship, and career development.

🤝 Commercial Opportunities - through 01 trade and investment seminar to build partnerships, networks, and cross-border business conversations.

🌸 Cultural Exchange - through the biggest community event of the year, “Vietnam Cultural Day” that celebrates and preserves Vietnamese culture globally.

From our first launch in Melbourne to a series of meetups, workshops, and global conversations and talks, each activity reflects how the 3Cs are not just ideas but actions.

Our Vietnam Cultural Day (15.03) marked a defining milestone: completing the full 3C journey by bringing cultural exchange to life and opening a new annual tradition for our community to gather, reconnect, and celebrate who we are.

At the same time, the signing of our MOU with VASEA marks another important milestone, signalling the next phase of GVW’s growth, where we expand beyond community-building into deeper strategic initiatives in trade, investment, education, and cross-border collaboration between Australia and Vietnam in a goverment level.
And this is only the beginning.

We are building more than a network - we are building a global platform where Vietnamese women can grow, lead, and create lasting impact across industries and borders.

We welcome continued support from government, associations, partners, and sponsors to co-create meaningful initiatives for Vietnamese women - across Melbourne, Vietnam, and beyond.

💫 Be part of what we are building. Grow with us. Lead with us.

🌸🌼🪷 Vietnam Cultural Day 2026 – Event Recap

Our community came together for a vibrant and meaningful Vietnam Cultural Day 2026 – “Tinh Hoa Việt Nam”, hosted by Global Viet Women last Sunday at Drill Hall Melbourne. The celebration honoured Vietnamese Women’s Day and marked GVW’s 1‑year anniversary with a full morning of culture, connection, and pride.

The program welcomed the representative of the Vietnam Embassy in Canberra, alongside a powerful keynote from Mr Andrew Goleszinowski AM, Former Australian Ambassador to Vietnam and GVW Patron.

A key milestone of the day was the MOU signing ceremony between GVW and VASEA, marking a new chapter of collaboration for the Vietnamese community in Australia.

Guests enjoyed a rich cultural experience featuring the Viet Cultural Product Showcase with Vietnest App and VIET BOOK ALLEY - Sách Việt AU & NZ, an inspiring Author Talk with three Vietnamese authors, and over five traditional performances, including a heart‑warming Áo Dài Family Show.

The hall buzzed with energy as more than 25 exhibitors showcased Vietnamese products, crafts, and cultural activities.

Families, professional, students, and community members filled the venue in colourful Áo Dài, creating a warm, bilingual, and intergenerational atmosphere that truly celebrated the beauty and strength of Vietnamese culture.

A heartfelt thank‑you to GVW's sponsors, partners, volunteers and everyone who joined us to make this milestone event unforgettable 🩷
