Bengali Association of Victoria (BAV) preserves the essence of Bengal and provides migrant Bengalis a cultural tapestry which nurtures elements of our motherland. BAV encourages and promotes Bengali culture and festivals through various initiatives such as an annual celebration of Durga Puja and Saraswati Puja, as well as organising numerous cultural programs throughout the year.

A beautiful day of wisdom and warmth with our BAV Seniors! 🌟🙏

On the 19th of July, our BAV Seniors had the absolute privilege of listening to Swami Sunishthanandaji from the Vedanta Centre Melbourne. He spoke beautifully on the profound topic of Detachment without Indifference. 🕉️✨

Swamiji explained how Vedantic philosophy teaches us to love and act fully without any expectations or demanding anything in return. He reminded us all that true happiness comes from within us rather than from external sources. His talk was succinct, incredibly inspiring and filled with relatable everyday examples! 💡💛

It was such a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. Swamiji kindly stayed after his talk to spend time chatting with our senior members and answering all their questions. We are so incredibly grateful for his valuable time and comforting presence. 🗣️🤝

The wonderful session was followed by generous amounts of delicious snacks, tea and coffee! ☕🍪 A massive thank you to Swamiji and our members for the beautiful shared plates and to everyone who kindly contributed donations for the ashram. 🙏🌺

Get ready Melbourne! 🥁✨ The time is almost here! The Bengali Association of Victoria cannot wait to celebrate Durga Pujo 2026 with all of you! 🎊

We are putting together two massive days of culture, connection and vibrant colour. Expect the rhythmic beats of the Dhaak and the beautiful energy of the Dhunuchi Dance! 🥁🔥 We have a brilliant programme of cultural performances lined up, heaps of delicious food to dig into and some fantastic shopping stalls to check out. 🛍️🍛

Come along for the traditional Sindoor Khela, grab some raffle tickets and most importantly, just enjoy some wonderful Adda with the community! ✨🥳 Let us make this a weekend to remember!

A Beautiful Day with Our BAV Seniors! 🌟👴👵

The BAV Seniors Annual Lunch on Sunday the 21st June 2026 was truly a memorable occasion! We were overjoyed to see over fifty senior members of our community taking part and coming together to celebrate. 👥✨

The absolute highlight of the day was hearing everyone share their very first experiences as immigrants in Australia. 🌏 It was a beautiful session filled with nostalgia, laughter, valuable insights and a true celebration of our collective journey. 📖❤️

Those engaging conversations were followed by a delicious lunch! 🤤 We enjoyed an absolute feast of Luchi Mangsho, Rosogolla and many more delights bringing the authentic taste and warmth of home to all of us. 🍛🍩

It was a wonderful day of friendship, fun and camaraderie. 🤝 We are so delighted to see our seniors community growing stronger through sharing, caring and supporting one another. 🌻
