Day three recap.

The final day was a scorcher, but that didn’t stop everyone showing up in great spirits after a night of music by Coterie, dancing and time by the fire.

The morning kicked off with an important session led by Luana Messena, Andreea Pafaluta and Mindy Leow on the new B Corp standards. The discussion was open, practical and forward-looking, giving everyone space to explore what the next chapter of the movement could look like.

We wrapped up the day hearing from Andrew Davies, Erica McCalman, and members of the B Lab AANZ B Council and Board, who reflected on the past three days and what lies ahead.

Thank you to everyone who made Assembly what it was. For your energy, ideas and generosity of spirit. You helped make this gathering something so special.

Day two recap.

The morning began with Pablo & Rusty’s over a cup of coffee as we explored the true cost of what we consume, and how everyday choices can shape fairer systems.

We were inspired by powerful voices including Ruby Rodgers, Tishiko King and Tamsin Jones, who invited us to lead with courage, creativity and care.

Throughout the day, conversations deepened, from bold discussions on business as a force for good to workshops on the new standards, climate storytelling, nature-positive action and collective responsibility.

In the afternoon, Dr Matt Beard, Andrew Davies and Helen Paul-Smith reminded us that care must be more than sentiment, it must be built into the systems we create.

As night fell, Coterie lifted the valley with music and a celebration of community, courage and the future we’re building together.

Day one recap at Assembly 2025.

Assembly opened with a powerful Welcome to Country from Uncle Gavi Duncan (Gomeroi, Mandandanji and Awaba), grounding us in the spirit, sovereignty and stories of Darkinjung Country. We were then welcomed in song and ceremony by Māori group Te Aranganui, reminding us of our shared responsibilities across lands and cultures.

B Lab ANZ CEO, Andrew Davies, set the tone with a clear invitation: B Corp is not just a certification, it’s a deeper pathway to accountability, courage and collective action.

From there, the day unfolded with truth-telling and inspiration from leaders including Bronwyn Penrith (Wiradjuri Elder), Toi Iti, Mele-Ane Havea and Derryn Heilbuth, who called us to pause, listen and step into our role as caretakers of legacy and future.

In Seed Pods, conversations moved from concept to connection, sparking imagination, honesty and shared purpose.

In the evening we had a special announcement from North Melbourne FC, the first ever sporting club to certify in our region.

As the sun set, we came together for an incredible dinner by Radish Events, an immersive storytelling experience with The Dreaming Project and music to close a powerful first day.

The message was clear: the work is already alive. And we rise together.

Equity isn’t a checkbox or a throwaway line in a policy. It’s key to doing better business.

It’s an active commitment to dismantling systemic barriers. To challenge who holds power, who gets heard, who gets hired, and who gets left behind.

That’s why when some are rolling back their diversity, equity and inclusion efforts, B Corps are doubling down.

‘B’ is for equity, and creating a more level playing field, not just within our own four walls, but across industries, regions, and communities.

There’s a better way to do business.

Only when we’re honest about what we’re doing well, and what we need to improve, can we build something better.

That’s why transparency is a core value of the B Corp movement. Sharing as openly and honestly as we can about how we do business, how we source materials, and how we measure our impact on the environment.

We’re in this for the long haul; on a mission to transform the global economy into one that’s more equitable, inclusive and regenerative.

‘B’ is for transparency, and choosing it time and again.

There’s a better way to do business.

Progress means raising the bar. Not once, but again and again.

Being a B Corp isn’t about being perfect, or chasing one-off wins. It’s about challenging business as usual.

Certified B Corporations are businesses that meet high standards of social and environmental performance, accountability and transparency. There are now over 10,000 B Corps globally, and we’re just getting started.

Currently, our standards are undergoing their most significant shift since the movement began, so B Corps can keep evolving in line with what the world needs right now.

This matters because standing still is not an option.

There’s a better way to do business.

That’s why the ‘B’ is for progress. Curious to learn more?

Fairness. We use that word a lot in this part of the world; we call it a ‘fair go’.

A fair go for workers. For suppliers. For communities.

Not just the loudest, the richest, or the ones at the top. But for everyone.

There’s a better way to do business.

Being a B Corp means baking fairness into everything we do, from how we hire to how we lead, buy, and grow. We believe in a kind of business that lifts everyone and meets the moment.

Because a fair go shouldn’t be the exception. It’s the mark of a better business.

That’s why the ‘B’ is for fairness. Want to learn more?

Assembly 2024 was powerful. Assembly 2025 is set to be next level. Aotearoa B Corps - are you listening?

It’s been over a year since we came together for the largest local gathering of Australian and Aotearoa New Zealand B Corps since 2017. We connected, we laughed, we learnt, we problem solved, we told stories, and we embraced the opportunity to share in nuanced, sometimes uncomfortable, yet critical conversations.

Now, Assembly is back.

From the 20th to the 22nd of October, we’ll gather on Darkinjung Country, New South Wales—one hour north of Sydney in the wilds of Glenworth.

In a world where disconnection is often the norm, over three days we will unplug and rediscover the power of genuine connection and weave change that is as vibrant as it is vital. Experience interactive breakouts, guided conversations, and healthy debates, where we surface the issues that matter most to our B Corp community.

It’s time to come together to leverage our shared skills, experience, and expertise for good.

It’s time to connect with and celebrate our rapidly growing community—to listen to the 137 new B Corp voices that joined our local region in the last year alone.

So, will we see you there?

🎟️ Tickets are available now, but places and accommodation options are limited, so visit assembly.bcorporation.com.au now to secure your place for this unforgettable experience exclusively open to B Corps.

In a world where time seems to fly by and it’s easy to forget to pause and reflect—to celebrate wins and recognise the opportunities before us—recertification represents a formal, routine moment for B Corps to check in every three years. It’s where B Corps update their B Impact Score to reflect broader business changes, impactful initiatives, growth, and B Corp’s evolving standards.

To celebrate their recent recertifications, we caught up with two local B Corps — Newcastle-based brand leadership consultancy firm and Melbourne-born SEO Agency SEO — to hear about what they’ve been up to since initially Certifying in 2021.

Read it via the link below, but first, join us in the comments to congratulate Mezzanine and Optimising on their recertification.

🎉 One million people are now employed by B Corps around the world. And 57,000 of them are right here in Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand.

That’s one million chances to do business differently—where fairness, dignity, and respect become standard. At a time when trust between workers and employers is breaking down, this milestone reminds us that good, quality jobs have never been more important, and that B Corps are helping to lead the way.

Lab’s new global white paper explores how around the world are adopting job quality practices that support not just individual wellbeing, but stronger communities and a fairer economy.

Drawing on data and the Institute’s Good Jobs Framework, the whitepaper looks at how B Corps compare to ordinary businesses—and how better jobs lead to better outcomes.

We knew from the beginning that —our region’s largest gathering exclusively for —simply wouldn’t work in a conventional conference space. After all, this isn’t a conventional conference.

For this experience to yield the richest outcomes for you and for our , Assembly needed to be in nature; the very nature we strive to protect and steward as purpose-led businesses.

We believe that big (even sometimes uncomfortable) conversations need wide open spaces. Space to disconnect from the noise, have our voices heard, and explore fresh perspectives in the fresh air. Where deep conversations happen organically over long walks under tree canopies, and strong connections are forged by the campfire.

This October 20 - 22, we invite all Australian and Aotearoa New Zealand-based B Corps to join us in the Glenworth Valley, Darkinjung country. Just an hour from Sydney yet so entrenched in nature, it's no surprise this location was a no-brainer.

Now is the time to secure a ticket for Assembly 2025 at a reduced rate before prices increase in a future release. Don’t miss out, get in early to secure your spot. Equity tickets and a limited number of tickets for small B Corps are also available.
