On Tuesday, 3 of our U3A members went on a Maroondah Council FOGO waste tour and it was amazing! Picked up by coach from North Ringwood and taken to the Biogro processing facility in Dandenong, we saw the end to end process for what happens to what we put in our green bins.
After extensive sorting and maturing it is turned into beautiful compost or potting mix. From your kerb to packed content takes around 3 months. If you see another tour offered I recommend it.

PS we saw a gelly bra and a garden fork removed let alone all the other plastic that naughty people put in their bins!

Who fancies being famous?! This Saturday 8am Fed Square...

Weekend Sunrise will cross live to Federation Square this Saturday morning to promote Celebration Day and Seniors’ Month. They are hoping to have as many high vibe seniors there as possible.
Details: the live cross over will last about 2-3 minutes. Weekend Sunrise will interview Bessie Kay, one of the Main Stage acts who is all about “dance for the brain”. Bessie will then demonstrate a 30-60 second brain training dance routine and you as a crowd member will join is as much as you’d like – just bring those high vibes!

• Time: 8am to 8.45am
• Meet: at Federation Square at 8am, in front of the main stage area
