What did our students say about the Spring Ballarat School Holiday Program? 💭

It fills our hearts to see students from different schools come together and build new friendships in just two days, while exploring social and emotional learning and creating fun memories alongside facilitator Jacqui and therapy dogs Honey and Maple 💛

We’re grateful to the Diocese of Ballarat for their generous support in making this free program possible, and to Community Hub for providing such a welcoming space.

The holiday program will be back next year. Stay tuned!!

This week on The Truth Behind the Tail, we’re looking at simple top-to-tail checks and why early recognition and first aid knowledge matter.

Rainy days, a cosy bed and plenty of snuggles… is there a better combination? ☔

Therapy dog Pebbles couldn’t agree more! Our Paw Pals dogs are making the most of some well-earned downtime, with plenty of time to rest and recharge before another term alongside students 💛

How are you recharging over the break?

A quick snapshot of the past few months 🐾

In Term 3, we continued creating meaningful learning and wellbeing opportunities for students, while developing resources and introducing new professional learning initiatives for those working with therapy dogs.

It's been a time of strengthening connections, building confidence and carrying that momentum forward for both our students and communities.

We hope everyone is enjoying a well-deserved break and feeling refreshed for a strong Term 4 🐶🌟

🐾 Trick learning is more than just having fun!

In Animal Assisted Education, practising new behaviours with our therapy dogs creates opportunities for students to explore perseverance, resilience and the confidence to keep trying.

From making mistakes and adapting strategies to receiving encouragement and celebrating progress, these shared experiences can spark meaningful educative conversations about students’ own learning journeys 🌟

This week on The Truth Behind the Tail, we’re exploring how trick learning can support student learning and wellbeing while respecting each dog’s individual needs.

How could you bring trick learning into your sessions?
