commUnity+, is a multi-disciplinary community agency delivering a range of early intervention and prevention programs focused on informing and engaging with our community. These programs include high-quality Adult Education, Children’s Contact Service, Neighbourhood House and Legal (through Brimbank Melton Community Legal Centre), as well as community engagement and development activities. Our cli

ents are people facing disadvantage and social exclusion, particularly communities new to Australia, vulnerable children and women, and those who need a helping hand in achieving just outcomes from governments and the legal system. We also partner with a large number of private, community and government agencies to enhance our service delivery and increase access for our communities. Our grassroots origins as a small residents’ action group at the Deer Park Neighbourhood House have resulted in a fundamental focus on positive change, growth, and empowerment. We are now a large community-based organisation funded by local, state and Commonwealth government departments and other philanthropic trusts. Through this, our team of dedicated professionals now have a greater capacity to deliver on our vision of building the capacity of our community through respecting diversity and striving for social justice. commUnity+ has become a company limited by guarantee to further strengthen governance and prepare for expansion.

Despite community legal centres providing free, quality legal services to more than 75,000 Victorians each year, the increasing need for help means many more are missing out on potentially life-changing support.

With the Victorian state election on the horizon, community legal centres (CLCs) from across Victoria have made the call to all political parties to commit to an additional $120 million in funding over the next term of parliament.

Today, the Federation of Community Legal Centres Victoria kicked off the state election campaign: Community Legal – We’ve Got Your Back. Our commUnity+ Legal Director Nicholas Pagonis attended the event at Victorian Parliament House.

At Parliament, representatives from across the sector and partner organisations outlined how the funding investment would help reduce unnecessary personal and community harm, save costs across the justice system and make the Victorian community safer.

Thank you to the Federation for hosting the launch and thank you to the community members and staff from partner organisations who showed their support today.

We've had some last minute changes in our Neighbourhood House programming - we apologise for any inconvenience.

The leadership session for Qu**rs Out West has been moved from today to Tuesday 23 June. We'll be chatting books, movies, games and more today.

The Gathering Table workshop with ARCVic on 10 June has been postponed to a date later in the year (stay tuned!). ARCVic is an organisation that we love and work closely with at commUnity+, so please come by and we can share some resources about their amazing services.

At commUnity+, we acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the lands on which we work and live. We pay our respects to Elders past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

This National Reconciliation Week, we reflect on the 2026 theme, All In.
"All In" is a call for all Australians to commit wholeheartedly to reconciliation, not just during one week of the year, but every day. It reminds us that reconciliation is not a spectator sport. It requires all of us to listen, learn, build understanding, and take meaningful action together.

As an organisation committed to strengthening communities, we recognise that reconciliation is an ongoing journey. It is about fostering respect, creating opportunities for connection, and working towards a future where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, cultures, histories and voices are valued and celebrated.

This week, and every week, we encourage our community to learn more about our shared history, engage in meaningful conversations, and consider how we can each play a part in creating a more inclusive and equitable Australia.

Because reconciliation happens when we are All In.
