Our team has been working closely with Bendigo RSL to deliver a G4VA program to nine veterans over the next few weeks. Cam Scott from Bendigo RSL has lead the initiative and supported by John Lane musician and veteran to provide the lessons over 10 weeks. G4VA delivered guitars this week and we look forward to seeing the vets play over the next few months. Well done Bendigo RSL

Guitars For Vets was pioneered and established 2007 in USA, and supported over 16,000 veterans. G4VA established in Australia 2017 and followed the simple approach of gifting a guitar and providing 10 lessons to a veteran to help them find new purpose , focus and manage stress related injury.

A key goals is to provide enough guidance for a veteran to play a song. A founding song taught is the classic Bob Dylan's Knocking On Heavens Door. As tribute to the program we brought together veterans, groups, teams across the oceans in mateship to share this song. The veterans in this clip have all been taught by Guitar For Veterans instructors. We thank them for playing, contributing and being a part of the program.

Thankyou to all the volunteers, instructors, donors and sponsors that help us add some music to a veterans outlook.

Here is a shout out to our veteran mates over the ditch ,

Former soldier and now advocate musician Tony Frank is working to bring greater support and purpose to NZ veterans and ESO workers experiencing the challenge of PTSD and transition. Tony has a big vision for NZ called , Phase 2.

"Every day, everywhere around New Zealand, veterans and first responders succumb to the pressures of PTSD in one form or another. It is my belief that parent organisation's need to do more to ensure not even a single veteran or first responder is abandoned or forgotten in the confusion of the numbers game. Imagine if every person leaving their service was to complete a PHASE TWO preparation programme while they were still serving, paid for as part of their service! This is more than a dream. We have to make this reality. My music is more than songs to listen to. My purpose in life is to make sure we as a nation give every due respect and care to those who served the nation. I cannot do this alone. It will take time, money and our community teaming up. I will never give up. This is my promise. My music is my path. Please share and let's get people talking. Action is needed and urgently"

Any Kiwi Vets , get behind Tony in his worthy mission of finding purpose through music and helping veterans transition .

Well done Tony

Next month, on 18 August, we honour all Australians who served in the Vietnam War. For over a decade, more than 60,000 Australians served in the war including almost 19,000 national servicemen.

This year, Vietnam Veterans’ Day also marks the 60th anniversary of the Battle of Long Tan, where Australians, outnumbered 10 to one, fought with courage and determination.

Guitars for Veterans Australia supports all Vietnam Veterans and with much pride has many who have taken our program.

"we gotta get of this place"

With much respect we will remember them
